After flat Thanksgiving Day performance against Broncos, Giants becoming a big disgrace

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, an annual celebration of food, family and football. The New York Giants' backfield is banged up. Brandon Jacobs said his injured right leg feels "really good" and he should play against Denver on Thursday, but backup Ahmad Bradshaw has a sprained left ankle that could sideline him. Bradshaw is wearing a protective boot on his left foot after previously wearing one on his right foot because of a cracked bone.

Bradshaw misses practice, could sit in Denver

Hey everybody, filling in for Ralph today. Head coach Tom Coughlin just met with the media and said that RB Ahmad Bradshaw sprained his left ankle (the good ankle he had) and is not sure what Bradshaw’s status will be for Denver. Bradshaw will not practice today and it doesn’t sound good. “At the beginning, right after the game they thought he had an ankle sprain but evidently it is more severe than that so he is in a boot,” Coughlin said. Bradshaw had been wearing a boot during the week on his other ankle from an older injury for precautionary reasons. RB Brandon Jacobs said he feels good and that “I don’t really have anything bother me” after taking a hit near his leg on Sunday. Jacobs said he could have come back into the game and played if need be. Looks like it could be all Jacobs and RB Danny Ware on Thursday against the Broncos.

Giants running back Brandon Jacobs took a heck of a shot to his right knee on Sunday, but it apparently won’t keep him out for very long. Though he missed the fourth quarter and overtime on Sunday, Jacobs was back at work today when the Giants held a light, evening practice and began their short week of preparation for their Thanksgiving game in Denver. Jacobs didn’t speak to the media today, but Tom Coughlin said “He seemed fine.” Incidentally, Coughlin said Jacobs could not have gone back into the Giants’ 34-31 win over the Falcons after the injury occurred late in the third quarter. Jacobs had indicated on Sunday that the coaches just decided to hold him out, even though he was healthy enough to play. “I don’t know,” Coughlin said. “That’s not what the medical people said.” Whatever. Jacobs is obviously now healthy enough that he doesn’t even appear on the Giants’ injury report. The only ones on there are LB ...
