Philadelphia Eagles running back Brian Westbrook will reportedly continue to miss practice and will be unable to play in NFL games until his headaches cease. Westbrook, who sustained a concussion in Week Eight, practiced all week leading up to Philadelphia's Sunday night game against the Dallas Cowboys, but was held out due to post-concussion ailments. Add some ankle issues to the list for Westbrook, and he's suddenly a huge question mark for the Eagles match with the San Diego Chargers, and is in danger of missing action for the second week in a row. Fantasy Perspective: This is especially annoying for fantasy owners, as Westbrook would be feasting on a horrible San Diego rush defense. Owners will be held in limbo all week long, and if his headaches continue, Andy Reid has no qualms about sitting him again, according to reports. Eagles running back Brian Westbrook was inactive for Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys, the second straight game he'll miss with a concussion. Westbrook missed the Eagles' rout of the Giants last week with a concussion sustained a week earlier in a victory over Washington. Coach Andy Reid said this week that Westbrook should be "good to go" against Dallas. Eagles trainer Rick Burkholder says Westbrook started experiencing symptoms of a mild headache on Friday.

Brian Westbrook Inactive For Sunday Night Football

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported earlier in the day that Eagles' running back Brian Westbrook may miss tonight's game with the Dallas Cowboys, but now it's official. Westbrook is still dealing with post-concussion issues, and despite practicing in full for three days this week, he will sit on the sidelines as LeSean McCoy takes over. McCoy's value gets a decent boost, but consider the fact that the Eagles are a pass-first team, there's no guarantee he has a huge break-out game as his owners are surely hoping for. McCoy has been solid, albeit unspectacular, in his last few outings, as he's received over 10 carries in three of his last five games, and has at least two receptions in three of his last five, as well. The Dallas Cowboys are no slouches defensively, allowing just 19.4 points per game (10th in the NFL), and giving up just 105 yards per game on the ground (13th). Regardless, McCoy's new starter status makes him a reliable RB2 and an elite Flex play for Sunday night's contest. ...

Nearly two weeks ago, Brian Westbrook faced a concussion against the Washington Redskins on Monday Night. Because of that injury, he did not play against the New York Giants, as he was not ready nearly a week after the injury. Heading into the Sunday night showdown against Dallas, Westbrook was expected to play according within the locker-room. However, those plans have changed, as the Eagles will be without their playmaker. According to Sunday NFL Countdown , Andy Reid is being cautious of Brian Westbrook's injury, which will keep him out against the Dallas Cowboys. The second straight game missed for Westbrook means receivers DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin will be a great deal of the offense just like last week in the victory over New York. It is Dallas week in Philadelphia, and all hands are on deck. After missing last weekend's game because of a head injury he suffered two weeks ago, Brian Westbrook has been cleared to play by the Eagles medical staff for this weekend's game against the Cowboys. LeSean McCoy started in Westbrook's stead last weekend. Both Westbrook and McCoy should get a fair amount of work this weekend. Westy will resume the starting role if he is, indeed, active on gameday. All signs point to him playing this weekend and the matchup is decent for fantasy owners. Philly usually brings it against Dallas. Meanwhile, McCoy's performance in Westbrook's stead—although it took a late 66-yard touchdown run to salvage any fantasy value—warrants more playing time for the rookie going forward. Linebacker H.B. Blades and cornerback Byron Westbrook are expected to miss Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery, Coach Jim Zorn said after practice today at Redskins Park. "They're both working. They're both trying to get back," Zorn said. "I don't believe they'll be ready this week. I think they have a chance to be ready in the next game [against the Denver Broncos on Nov. 15] and we'll just see how they progress." Blades and Westbrook suffered meniscus tears, Zorn said. The players underwent surgery last Tuesday. Left tackle Stephon Heyer (knee) is "actually improving," Zorn said. Recently signed tackle Levi Jones is expected to have a bigger role in practice as Heyer continues to heal, "but I fully expect Stephon to be the guy."
