Bears Blow Past Lions in 34-7 Smashing in Detroit

It was as if the ghost of Matt Millen was lurking around Ford Field Sunday. That’s at least how the Lions played. Like has been the case all season, the Lions dug a hole for themselves, and this time were not even able to make it a game, falling 34-7 to the Chicago Bears.

Being at Ford Field on Sunday and in the media room for coach Rod Marinelli was quite an experience. The Lions media, all very nice men just trying to do their jobs, were out on a mission to find out just how and why this team, that started last season so well, has totally collapsed

Bears find right balance

Reputations are difficult to shake, not that Kyle Orton cares one bit. One prognosticator in Detroit picked the Lions to win their first game Sunday against the Bears. His reasoning? The Lions were not so bad that they couldn't beat Orton at Ford Field.

The Bears limped to Ford Field last season without starting cornerbacks Charles Tillman and Nathan Vasher and left as part of NFL history after the Detroit Lions scored a record 34 fourth-quarter points. The 37-27 loss was the lowlight of the 2007 season -- until the Lions came to town a month later and promptly swept the Bears.
