Calvin Johnson suffers bruised lower back; Woody and Backus sustain rib injuries

Lions coach Rod Marinelli said wide receiver Calvin Johnson suffered a bruised lower back in Sunday’s 56-21 loss to the Eagles. But Marinelli didn’t provide details. More information is expected Monday. Johnson, the second overall pick in this year’s draft, suffered the injury making an amazing catch in the second quarter.

Eagles win 56-21, The Rumors of My Demise Have Been Greatly Exaggerated

Who were those guys in Blue and Yellow today? It certianly wasn't the same Eagles offense that showed up in weeks one & two. They hang 56 on the Lions, set a team record for the most points in a half, didn't punt until the 3rd quarter, and racked up 536 yards of total offense. This is the most points the Eagles offense have scored since they put 58 on who? That would be these same Detroit ...

Week 3 NFL Schedule

After a solid opening week where I went 13-3 in predictions, things went downhill in Week 2 as I only went 9-7. I do have to say, there were more upsets than usual, and seriously, who would've thought the Browns would beat the Bengals 51-45? That game ...

Eagles Throwback Uniforms aka Those Ugly Jerseys

The superstitious Eagles fan might chalk up the Eagles amazing rout of the Detroit Lions on Sunday to the fact that they were wearing different uniforms. The tactical/superstitious Eagles fan might chalk the win up to confusion by the Lions, as they were blinded by the colors of the throwback uniforms, or perhaps, the Lions were confused because they thought they were playing a college team?

Straight Cash Homey Part Deux

Humorous(kinda) wrap up of week 3 of the NFL Season. Randy Moss, Philip Rivers and LT pick out curtains. And the Eagles beat the snot out of the Lions while dressed like circus clowns. DeAngelo Hall's punishment will be playing for the Falcons this week, and the complementary Paris Hilton Joke with a side of penicillin.

Eagles wear blue and yellow, but the issues are still black and white

Write it off as typical Hostile City vibes if you want, but Ted Hesson's experiences at last Sunday's Lions/Eagles game seem to validate Donovan McNabb's claims about the treatment of black QB's --- to put it mildly.

Lions sign free agent TE Courtney Anderson

The Detroit Lions signed free agent tight end Courtney Anderson and waived tight end Rudy Sylvan on Monday. Sylvan was promoted from Detroit's practice squad for Sunday's 56-21 loss to Philadelphia after Dan Campbell was placed on injured reserve with an elbow injury. Anderson had 25 catches for 285 yards and two touchdowns last season with Oakland.
