freep.com 9/24/2007 — Lions coach Rod Marinelli said wide receiver Calvin Johnson suffered a bruised lower back in Sunday’s 56-21 loss to the Eagles. But Marinelli didn’t provide details. More information is expected Monday. Johnson, the second overall pick in this year’s draft, suffered the injury making an amazing catch in the second quarter.

Lions sign free agent TE Courtney Anderson
mlive.com 9/26/2007 — The Detroit Lions signed free agent tight end Courtney Anderson and waived tight end Rudy Sylvan on Monday.
Sylvan was promoted from Detroit's practice squad for Sunday's 56-21 loss to Philadelphia after Dan Campbell was placed on injured reserve with an elbow injury.
Anderson had 25 catches for 285 yards and two touchdowns last season with Oakland.
