The Tampa Bay Buccaneers finally won their first game of the season, but safety Sabby Piscitelli still had a bad day.

Police say burglars broke into his house in Tampa Sunday afternoon while he was playing the Green Bay Packers at Raymond James Stadium.

Haters Gonna Hate: Playas Gonna Play

It's nice to see that even though Brett Favre and the Vikings have the week off, the "holier than thou" Favre bashers do not.
Well, here I am to punch the clock and put in some work.
I'd like to take a moment to ponder why?
Why all the hate?
Why all the animosity?
I mean, the Packers' brass bashers stopped once Favre was gone. True Packers fans have put the differences behind them, and while showing support for the Pack have kept respect for the talent Favre has.
Even after the man brutalized our beloved Packers for 515 yards and seven TDs, the true fans were able to sit back and say," WOW, and he didn't even blink."
Why I say? Why?
Possible reason No. 1 (and the most likely):
Since the departure of Brett Favre, the Packers are a devastating 10-14 and Favre is 16-8. Maybe the bashers are thinking what most think when someone does something they themselves haven't done or can't do, ”Why not me?"
Of course, to that I say: I don't know, ask Ted Thompson. He's the one who put together ...

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NFL, Brett Favre, Green Bay Packers

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Win Over Pack "Rings" Loud and Clear

Amid an old school sea of 1979 Orange on a balmy Sunday at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, an iconic superstar was honored and perhaps a new star was born.
Lee Roy Selmon, Tampa's greatest player and a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, became the first member of the team's Ring of Honor.
On the field, the Buccaneers passed, ran, defended and special-teamed a ring around the Green Bay Packers and forged an amazing come-from-behind 38-28 victory to end the team's losing streak at seven.
It was a heart-pounding debut for rookie quarterback Josh Freeman who showed enough poise and field generalship to direct the fourth-quarter stunner. On this special day, Freeman hit three touchdown passes, two of them in that final quarter when the Bucs outscored Green Bay 21-7 to stun the Pack.
It was Freeman's debut and he was impressive at the least. "By the fourth quarter, he was a veteran quarterback," declared Michael Clayton.
The Buccaneers won this game because Freeman did nothing to lose it.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers saluted their past, then rookie Josh Freeman gave the struggling franchise hope for the future.
Packers' Rodgers, Driver probable for Bucs game

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and receiver Donald Driver practiced Friday and are probable for Sunday's game at Tampa Bay.

Rodgers suffered a sprained toe in last Sunday's 38-26 loss to the Minnesota Vikings and has been coping with a sprain in his other foot the past few weeks.

Coach Mike McCarthy said Rodgers was able to do everything in practice Friday and didn't have limited mobility. The coach said Driver had a good practice after treatment for a neck injury.

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NFL, Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Donald Driver, Minnesota Vikings, Mike McCarthy

The Red Zone Report's NFL Quick Hits (Nov. 6)

  Bob Sanders Out For Season
He was originally just getting his arm scoped by Dr. James Andrews, but clearly they found something bigger than originally thought.
Sanders will miss the remainder of the season with a torn bicep, exiting the starting line-up just weeks since making his 2009 debut. Indy's seventh ranked pass defense will take a hit.

  Anthony Gonzalez Has Knee Scoped
This is just a nother fantastic tidbit for mini-Gonzo.
If you were holding out hope for him to rescue your weak receiving corps, you can give up. Even if he does make it back (which is in doubt), he's no lock to be a huge factor in time for your playoffs.

  Antonio Bryant's Knee Swelling Up
Great. Experts were plugging this guy all weak against a beatable Packers secondary, and now his knee is acting up.
Head coach Raheem Morris, and Bryant himself, admitted that this injury could very well keep him out of the Week Nine match-up with Green Bay. Bryant will be a game-time decision.

Buccaneers-Packers Preview: The Power Of Bruce Compels You!

So it's come to this for the fans of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Hoping that creamsicle and a less-than-masculine looking winking pirate can bring you luck in ending one of the longest losing streaks in the franchise's sordid history.
Yes, Bucco Bruce has risen up from Davey Jones locker. Orange will again be in fashion in Tampa Bay.
While the fans are hoping for some magical redemption in the "Pastel Foot wipes" of old, one has to wonder if the resurrection of Bucco Bruce is the cause of this disaster.
Think about it. With Pewter Power Tampa Bay, has had nine seasons of at least 8-8 or better in 12 seasons. Tampa Bay has only had three losing seasons since the color change and amassed a 105-87 record. The run has included four division championships, seven playoff appearances, five playoff victories and a Super Bowl title.
By raising Bucco Bruce, the Bucs' owners - the Glazers, invited in the demons of a 100-231-1 record in 21 years of creamsicle. In those dismal 21 seasons, Tampa Bay had ...

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NFL, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Green Bay Packers, Josh Freeman

Green Bay Packers vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers Preview: "Where" Protection? (Humor)

With thoughts of exacting revenge on Brett Favre now retired, the Packers can set their sights on more attainable goals, like beating the Buccaneers, or snatching a wild card playoff berth. Green Bay fell 38-26 to the Vikings as Favre out-dueled his replacement, Aaron Rodgers, at Lambeau Field. "I wanted that win badly," says Aaron Rodgers, "for my own selfish reasons. I think Favre, of all people, can respect that. But revenge will have to wait. The Vikes completed the sweep, so that ship has sailed. Luckily, there's another boat in Tampa, and like the Bucs, it's not going anywhere. "As you know, I've been sacked 31 times this year, with almost half of those courtesy of the Vikings. I think I need to have a 'birds and the bees' talk with my offensive line and tell 'em the same thing my daddy told me: 'Where protection?'" The Bucs and head coach Raheem Morris made a quarterback switch in their bye week, and rookie Josh Freeman will start against the Packers over Josh Johnson. "I hear ...

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NFL, Green Bay Packers, Aaron Rodgers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Brett Favre

Strikeforce Fight Week Preview: Jake Shields vs. Jason Miller

I've already gone on record in a couple different places saying this will be the Fight of the Night. That's what happens when you get a guy who likes to submit people fighting a guy who just doesn't tap. While my prediction for this fight has been known to readers of my work at Bleacher Report , that won't stop me from breaking down FWP-style as always. I mean, just because I think Mayhem is going to win doesn't mean I can't discuss the finer points of this outstanding match-up. Some would call that remaining objective; undoubtedly, others will call it an attempt to pad my stats. I don't care what you call it, as long as you read it. Jake Shields (23-4-1) vs. Jason "Mayhem" Miller (22-6-0, 1 NC) The Cesar Gracie black belt is head and shoulders ahead of Mayhem in terms of training; while Miller is the big dog in the yard and does most of his training solo, Shields is the captain of "The Scrap Pack," a collection of Gracie students that includes The Diaz Brothers and Gilbert ...

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NFL, Green Bay Packers

Green Bay Packer Fans Should Be Booing Ted Thompson, Not Brett Favre

It's time. Time to call out Ted Thompson.
I cannot understand why the fans at Lambeau Field were seen booing Brett Favre. That passion and anger should be directed in an entirely different direction.
Packer fan: If you don't like seeing Brett Favre run out onto your field in a Vikings uniform, don't get mad at him. Get mad at your General Manager who ran him out of town.
Get mad at the man who decided that the Packers didn't need Brett Favre anymore. If the Packers are too good for Brett Favre, why should they be worried about him playing anywhere else?
Brett Favre took a ton of heat from media members and fans alike for his indecision. Where is the heat that Ted Thompson so richly deserves?
Ted Thompson, we are now a season and a half into your Brett Favre dismissal operation, and I think we can declare you as the official loser.
Your team that won 13 games two years ago and found itself an overtime away from the Super Bowl has compiled a 10-13 record since the departure of Favre.

After watching Aaron Rodgers get roughed up for yet another afternoon, the Green Bay Packers could welcome back two veteran tackles to their offensive line this week. Packers coach Mike McCarthy hinted strongly that Chad Clifton and Mark Tauscher will start Sunday's game at Tampa Bay. Clifton hasn't played a full game since the opener because of a nagging right ankle injury, and Tauscher...

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NFL, Green Bay Packers, Aaron Rodgers, Mike McCarthy, Chad Clifton, Mark Tauscher, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Brad Childress On Brett Favre's Groin: What Was He Thinking?

Brad Childress came under a bit of fire in Week Eight as it was revealed that Vikings QB Brett Favre had played through a groin injury while leading his team to victory over the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field.
Favre was not listed on the injury report, even as probable, and it is against league rules for any athlete injury to be hidden, possibly keeping the other team at a competitive disadvantage.
Nothing to worry about here, as witnessed by Brad Childress' hilarious press conference .
Yes, you heard correctly. The man who also spent last week deciding to "motivate" his team by dressing like a flight attendant also uttered the words "rub it" while talking about Brett Favre's groin.
What is Brad Childress thinking?! I know...
10) Think Green Bay felt like a jilted lover before...
9) I haven't been asked this much about another man's groin since dinner with Jeff Garcia.
8) Why hasn't anyone mentioned my haircut?
7) Aww crap, those boys from Coors Light are going to have a ...

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NFL, Brad Childress, Brett Favre, Minnesota Vikings, Green Bay Packers

Tuesday Moring Running Back Week Eight: Return of the Lambeau Legend

It was a sight we thought we'd never see. It felt like hell had frozen over and Santa Claus had suddenly converted to satanism.
There was Brett Favre, the man responsible for the reversal of fortune of the Green Bay Packer franchise, running on to the field in the putrid purple of the hated Minnesota Vikings.
Surprisingly, he was met with a chorus of boos.
On one hand I can understand that. I would feel jilted too if I ever saw David Ortiz come back to Boston in a Yankee uniform.
However, this man did make the Packers a force to be reckoned with again after so many appalling years under such luminaries as Anthony Dilweg and Don Majkowski.
But as always, sports fans are entitled to feel what they wish about whoever they want.
So amid a smattering of boos and cheers, Favre was intent to prove he still could competently quarterback a team at his advanced age.
When it was over, Favre had thrown for 244 yards and four touchdowns in a 38-26 victory.
Even when it appeared the Packers ...

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NFL, Brett Favre, Minnesota Vikings, Percy Harvin, Green Bay Packers

Lessons Learned From The Packers

Remember when, in the aftermath of the Hurricane Katrina fiasco and right around the Republican Party's 2006 electoral implosion, it was discovered that then-President George W. Bush had hired a "Director of Lessons Learned" (the White House circa 2006's words, not mine) to the tune of around $110,000 a year to do nothing more than apparently analyze the "lessons learned" from Brownie's heck of a job?
If you didn't, you do now. And since $110,000 is a drop in the bucket for a National Football League team such as the Green Bay Packers, perhaps it's high time that the Packers hire a "Director of Lessons Learned" to call their own. After all, learning lessons is normally part of the job description of a football team's coach, and Mike McCarthy doesn't seem to be doing much of that at the moment. In lieu of that, I'll present my own study guide of sorts of lessons learned for the rest of the Packers' season in light of their recent embarrassing loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
  One: Aaron Rodgers ...

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NFL, Green Bay Packers, Aaron Rodgers, Mike McCarthy, Ryan Grant, Justin Harrell, Charles Woodson

A Fan's Account Of Favre Bowl II at Lambeau Field

As a one-time devoted Packers fan, as well as an openly hopeless Brett Favre enthusiast, this writer got the best of both worlds this Sunday.
Tailgating with Packers and Vikings fans in a stranger's backyard, taking trips to a self-made bathroom, I discovered what it is to be both a true Packers/Vikings fan, some humility, and that defending your favorite player for the past four years has it's perks in the end.
I also learned several other things on Nov. 1st. I learned to not use "the bucket", the "number two" disposal device, that makes women of all sizes cringe, and make men second-guess the number of brats they'll be embedding into their fat walls.
I also learned about ketchup and how it "never belongs on a brat." I was told to go back to "Detroit," or whatever that means.
But despite the unlikely culture shock a Florida resident receives from going back to his stomping grounds, the even bigger surprise was seeing the outcome of the game, and somehow even more enlightening-the ...

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NFL, Brett Favre, Minnesota Vikings, Lambeau Field, Green Bay Packers

Rodgers and his Green Bay Packers may have failed to fend off Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings, but that, nor multiple foot injuries, will keep Rodgers down.
The Packers' quarterback was limping around the field noticeably on Sunday, taking hit after hit behind an unforgiving offensive line and being chased around all day by an aggressive Minnesota defensive front.
Rodgers is doing his best impersonation of Favre, the Iron Man legend that he continues to try to replace, stopping himself from exiting the game in the fourth quarter despite being in severe pain.
Fantasy Perspective: With a foot sprain and a bad toe on separate feet, Rodgers has reportedly said that he won't miss Green Bay's tasty match-up with the winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Head coach Mike McCarthy seconded that thought. Rodgers played uninspired and ineffective football in the first half on Sunday, but his three second-half touchdowns displayed his steady QB1 status in fantasy football.

Favre Returns to Lambeau In Triumphant Fashion

To my surprise, Brett Favre returned to Lambeau Field on Sunday to an overwhelming amount of boos. You heard a few claps here and there, but it sounded more like a WWE event than it did an NFL game. Needless to say, Favre was the villain. And after laughing off the boos, and even a few middle fingers, the villain won. The Packers are now 0-2 against their rivals in purple this season due in large part to the man who brought their franchise back to the top in the mid-90s. None of this should be put on the shoulders of Aaron Rodgers. Simply put, he's been great and has proven he's got a great future in this league. It's the rest of his team that needs to start pulling its weight. Especially against more formidable opponents. It still seems the Packers defense has a ton of holes in it. It has looked good against weak opponents and horrible against good ones. The Vikings now have a powerful grip on the NFC North and unless they collapse like Favre's Jets did last season, an easy road to ...

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NFL, Brett Favre, Minnesota Vikings, Green Bay Packers

Favre, Vikings take 7-1 record into bye (AP)

Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings have arrived at their bye week with a 7-1 record and only a handful of bumps and bruises. The injuries include a groin muscle to Favre that acted up during warmups before Sunday's win at Green Bay. Coach Brad Childress says he wasn't concerned about his 40-year-old quarterback.

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NFL, Brett Favre, Minnesota Vikings, Green Bay Packers, Brad Childress

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers came out of Sunday's loss to the Minnesota Vikings with a sprain on one foot and sprained toe on the other.
Fly: Peterson's swath of destruction extends to teammates

Hey, didn't you used to be Kurt Warner? (He apparently went as Jake Delhomme for Halloween.)
You may or may not have noticed that Minnesota Vikings FB Naufahu Tahi was unable to play against the Packers on Sunday. Apparently Tahi and Adrian Peterson were goofin' in the locker room and Tahi wound up injuring the area around his eye. Peterson did fine without Tahi's blocking, accumulating 97 yards and 1 TD at Lambeau.
So Brett Favre emerges from his Green Bay "homecoming" unscathed. Maybe Packers fans can ease their pain by purchasing this T-shirt .
Manu Ginobili insists he did not kill a bat that interrupted a Spurs game on Halloween. He says he stunned it. No official word on the bat's fate. In case you missed it, here's the video of Ginobili blocking the bat in flight.
Seems odd to even think about it today, but if the Yankees don't bring Johnny Damon back, the Boston Globe spies think he'd be a nice fit with the Chicago White Sox . Yeah, Fly bets folks in Boston would ...

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NFL, Adrian Peterson, Minnesota Vikings, Green Bay Packers, Kurt Warner, Jake Delhomme
