Not seeing this anywhere yet, but just got
this news alert via email: Joe Gibbs will resign
as coach and team president of the Washington Redskins, the Associated Press has learned. Will update as more comes to light, but know that Gibbs 2.0 was ...
In a stunning development, former Titan defensive coordinator
Gregg Williams was fired today and eliminated for consideration
in the Redskins’ search for a new head coach.
1. Joe Gibbs announces his retirement leaving the
average fan unmoved. The franchise looks to be heading
in the right direction and the name Bill Cowher has us cautiously optimistic. 2.We begin to realize that all of Danny's money can't lure ...
It's been announced that Joe Gibbs 2.0 will
retire at a press conference this afternoon. Even in
the rocky years of the Gibbs comeback we owe a lot of thanks to the legendary coach/preacher. We thank him for two playoff seasons, we thank him for ...
FASSEL?! You have to got to be kidding
me! If Gregg Williams isn't the next coach of
the Redskins then we might as well abandon ship b/c it will be at least 10+ years before we reach the playoffs again. This would be even dumber than the Spurrier move ...
La Canfora is all over this over at
The Insider : Apparently Jim Fassel has been interviewed
TWICE by the Redskins for their head coaching vacancy. You learn more: According to numerous sources Fassel was the guy who interviewed Friday Jan. 11 ...
Dan Snyder is going to be elected owner
of the year... by every other owner in the
NFL.
Jason Campbell's Progress As the young quarterback goes,
so goes the offense. Will his offseason work pay
immediate dividends? Will the Real D Please Stand Up? The nose dive from top-10 defense to 31st was shocking. Have defensive coach Gregg Williams ...
More to come on this later, but my
oh my, what a turnaround. And I don't want
to hear apologists out there talk about how Dallas was resting everyone. Romo, Witten, Jones, Barber, and the starting D were out there until the middle of the third quarter. Yes, T.O. was out and that was big. But seriously, the 'Skins are NOT the team you want to face in the NFC right now. Not with Todd Collins ...

The Washington Redskins fired assistants Gregg Williams and
Al Saunders on Saturday, promoted Greg Blache to lead
the team's defense and announced that a head coach would likely not be in place for at least another week.
Interesting news from college football and the Pac-10.
Maybe nothing can convince Gregg Williams that head
coach of the Washington Redskins is not the job
for him. Perhaps being among the last interviewees, and having his name whispered in media reports while names like Pete Carroll and Bill Cowher were being shouted from the rooftops isn't enough to convince him of which way the organization is looking, and it isn't within.

[editor's note, by River City Rage] : With
all the talk about Gregg Williams, I thought it
would be useful to get some inside perspective on the man. Ben, from The Curly R was kind enough to do a little analysis on the subject. It's worth reading ...
Why Jacksonville's hire of Gregg Williams as defensive
coordinator makes sense for Jack Del Rio and Williams.
The Jaguars, who already have an excellent defense, should be much more agressive in 2008.
Thanks for the info, Jason...I think. As I
have stated ad nauseum I'm really upset about Springs
leaving. Yes, the primary reason is because he is smokin' HOT...but also he is a really good CB when healthy. Gregg Williams has always stated that he can...
