Edwards misses practice with swollen knee

Quarterback Trent Edwards has a swollen bruise above his right kneecap, which forced him to miss practice Wednesday, a day after the Buffalo Bills starter knocked knees in a collision with running back Marshawn Lynch. Walking with a noticeable limp, Edwards was relieved the injury to his lower right quadriceps wasn't as severe as he initially feared, but added he's not sure whether he'll play in Buffalo's third preseason game at Indianapolis on Sunday.

Peyton Manning has attended his first practice with the Indianapolis Colts since he had knee surgery just over five weeks ago. Manning accompanied the Colts to their first practice session at the new Lucas Oil Stadium on Tuesday. He wore a team jersey and shorts, with an elastic band around his left knee. He appeared to walk without much problem. Manning had surgery July 14 to remove an infected bursa sac.

Kyle Orton Was Named the Chicago Bears' Starter, But Is He the Best Choice?

Rex Grossman is not our starting quarterback. Kyle Orton is now the official starting quarterback of the Chicago Bears for their season opener versus the Indianapolis Colts. Kyle Orton started 15 games in 2005 and three last season. He's thrown for more than 2,300 yards and 12 touchdowns in his career. Orton has always been a decent game manager but has never had the greatest arm or accuracy. Grossman, on the other hand, can throw the ball and has always had a flare for the dramatic, but he has poor field vision and poor decision-making. Although I don't believe in either quarterback's abilities, I think it was important for Lovie Smith to announce a starting quarterback so that the team can rally around one of them, rather than hang in limbo. I will agree with Lovie on one thing about picking Orton: He won't win you any games, but he won't lose you any. Fellow Bears fans, look forward to 180-yard-passing games with one touchdown and one interception.

Brady is a leader with charisma that rivals that of the great quarterbacks in the history, and is only matched by Peyton. He has the best weapons in the NFL. His receivers and offensive line are unrivaled by any team in the entire league. He comes from one of the most prestigious colleges in the country, hailing from Ann Arbor, Michigan. Brady isn't a gunslinger by any means, he is the perfect picture of the field general. He holds the record for most touchdowns in one season. He is an amazing athlete who can throw the ball for amazing distances. His form is perfect. He may not have another magic year this year, but he's still an amazing QB.
