Pacman Jones Posterboy of Athletes Blessed with Talent That Goes to Waste

Today is the first day of Fall Break at the University of Dayton. Instead of taking a trip or going home to see the family, I decided to hang back and make some extra money by working at the recreational facility on campus.
As I was hanging out at the equipment issuance desk, a story on SportsCenter (that's right, I get to watch SportsCenter while I get paid!) came up about Adam "Pacman" Jones getting into trouble again.
This time, Pacman apparently got into a fight with one of his bodyguards in a hotel late Tuesday night.
Pacman is a perfect example of athletes who put great talent to waste. Before being suspended for last season, Jones showed us that he could easily be one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL when he was on the Titans.
Pacman signed a five-year deal worth $30 million with the Titans in 2005. Not to mention $15 million was guaranteed. After Jerry Jones decided to give him a shot in Dallas, he signed a four-year deal worth $13.3 million.
The results of his incidents off ...

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NFL, Pacman Jones, Dallas Cowboys, Jerry Jones

Sources at Valley Ranch were saying early Thursday morning that Jerry Jones came to work very, very hissed off at one of the many problem children he pays to play football.

Adam "Pacman" Jones: Just a Nasty Guy, Doing His Nasty Thing

So I had this great idea for an office pool, but it went up in smoke this week. The idea was to bet on the month that Adam Jones went back to being his old, lovable Pacman self.
Personally, I would have bet on November or December. The winter months can be harshly cold in Dallas, and the unforgiving winds can drive a man into the warm comfort of a strip club.
But October? I have to say I was a little surprised.
What doesn't surprise me is the fact that the Cowboys appear to be sweeping this latest little incident under the rug.
Details are still a little sketchy, but reports say that Pacman (I think it's okay to go back to calling him Pacman) had a fight with one of his own bodyguards in a Dallas hotel early Wednesday morning.
One report said that Jones followed the bodyguard into the bathroom, waited until the man was concentrating on the urinal, and jumped him from behind.
That's our boy! We knew he'd be back!
Pacman is a nasty guy. Everyone knows this, including Jerry Jones, who took ...

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NFL, Pacman Jones, Dallas Cowboys, Jerry Jones

When Does It End? Adam "Pacman" Jones' Constant Drama Unacceptable

As everyone may know, Dallas Cowboys cornerback/kick returner Adam "Pacman" Jones was arrested after he got into a fight with his bodyguard earlier this week. It was about 1:30 in the morning when police from Dallas broke up the fight. Jones’ bodyguard, Tommy Jones, denied to press any kind of charges on Pacman.
This afternoon, the Cowboys have said that they will take zero action on this fiasco that happened last night. Owner Jerry Jones said that they have made their own investigation and found no evidence to punish him for his involvement.
However, the league and commissioner Roger Goodell are looking down on this. Goodell has stated that he and the NFL are making their own investigation into the case.
If Pacman is suspected of any wrongdoing after he said that he will behave, will Goodell ban him from the NFL? I wonder. Jones may want to check into an anger management facility before any harsh action is taken.
Don’t get me wrong, Jones is a great player and all, but his ...

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NFL, Pacman Jones, Dallas Cowboys, Roger Goodell, Jerry Jones

Adam "Pacman" Jones' To-Do List

Ten things Adam "Don't call me Pacman" Jones will do before the end of the season:
1. Beat Tony Romo with Terrel Owens while screaming "I HATE PRIMA DONNAS!!!!"
2. Kick Jerry Jones once for every dollar spent on the Cowboys new stadium.
3. Kill someone assigned to protect him.
4. Punch an opposing wide receiver during or after a play.
5. Clean up his act using stolen cleaning supplies.
6. Cause Roger Goodell to have an aneurysm.
7. Hammer throw a fan.
8. Break the NFL's consecutive suspension record.
9. Party down with Felix Jones.
10. Sign a huge contract with the Cowboys through 2010.
And, although this didn't make the list, he'll probably also have lost the respect of every football fan on the planet, too. Come on, man, you're a heck of an athlete, don't waste it!

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NFL, Dallas Cowboys, Pacman Jones, Tony Romo, Jerry Jones, Roger Goodell, Felix Jones

Only Goodell Can Judge Pacman Jones

The insanity of employing a professional football player who needs 24-hour protection from his own mental imbalance just reared its ugly little head like Putin over Alaskan airspace.
Adam "Pacman" Jones, according to Dallas police, brawled Wednesday night with one of the four bodyguards Cowboys owner Jerry Jones hired to stop TuPacman from running afoul of the law.
And now the football world watches with bated breath to see how effective Jerry Jones' cleanup crew will be in hushing up witnesses, the bodyguard, police, and hotel staff so that the NFL can continue to pretend TuPacman is stable enough to remain a cast member on Jones' reality TV show.
My money is on Jerry Jones. Terence Newman is out for at least the next month and a half with a sports hernia. The NFC East is the most talented and competitive division in football. Jerry Jones believes he can't win the Super Bowl without TuPacman.
The Cowboys will concoct a very elaborate story exonerating TuPacman.
At some point today, I ...

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NFL, Pacman Jones, Roger Goodell, Jerry Jones, Dallas Cowboys

Adam "Pacman" Jones' Latest Episode a Test for Roger Goodell, NFL

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones today will decide what action, if any, to take against Adam "Pacman" Jones, stemming from an altercation in a Dallas hotel bathroom between the cornerback and a personal bodyguard hired by the Cowboys.
The incident happened Wednesday morning, hours before a previously scheduled team meeting with Goodell. Goodell, in statements made Wednesday in San Antonio, spoke highly of what had been Jones' compliance with the recent strict policy instituted for dealing with player misconduct.
Jones has been under the close watch of Goodell, having been arrested six times for various off-field incidents since being a first-round draft pick of the Tennessee Titans in 2005. Jones sat out the entire 2007 season, serving a suspension imposed by Goodell for multiple violations of the NFL's player personal conduct policy.
Goodell reinstated the cornerback when he signed this season with the Cowboys.
Dallas Cowboys' Adam Jones Throws Down at a Dallas Hotel; Shocks No One

Pacman "Adam" Jones is at the center of a new controversy, after an altercation with his bodyguard Wednesday morning at a Dallas hotel. This comes mere days after Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told Adam Jones to keep a low profile and stay out of trouble.
Way to listen "Adam."
Although no one was arrested or charged with any crime, this clearly does not look good for the league's most notorious player that isn't named Mike Vick.
Suspended for a year after he made it rain at a strip club, and helped cost a man the ability to walk, Adam Jones said that he was a changed man. He shed his name "Pacman" and decided to go by his birth name, Adam.
Still, his attorney Worrick Robinson is not convinced of any wrongdoing. After speaking with Jones, Robinson said "I'm not satisfied anything has happened. I perform due diligence on rumors anytime there is an allegation made against a player I represent, and at this point I can tell you that I'm not satisfied that anything ...

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NFL, Dallas Cowboys, Pacman Jones, Jerry Jones

Jerry Jones Not Seeking Roy Williams

Dallas Cowboys' owner Jerry Jones told Sports Illustrated recently that he is not looking for a wide receiver before the Oct. 14 trade deadline. So, those Cowboys fans—100 percent of them—hoping Jones would make an offer for Detroit Lions wide receiver Roy Williams will be disappointed.
Per SI:
Jerry Jones on Sunday afternoon: “We have no plans to trade for a receiver before the trading deadline.” No plans? So it’s not going to happen? “No,” he said. “No trade for a receiver.”
The deadline is a week from tomorrow. Detroit, looks like you’re going to have to swallow Roy Williams in this lost season, or find someone else from which to get a low first-rounder or high two.
How mad will people be if someone else makes a deal for Roy Williams, and for a lot less than what most fans, even Jerry Jones, would have offered for him? I fear what could happen.

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NFL, Jerry Jones, Roy Williams, Dallas Cowboys, Detroit Lions, Sports Illustrated

Dallas Cowboys, Say Hello to Ocho Cinco

Want to know how Chad Johnson is going to get around the NFL's jersey-sale banning of the name Ocho Cinco? Simple—he's packed his bags and is moving to Dallas, where they have a fresh No. 85 jersey with his name on it.
Ocho Cinco will follow in the footsteps Pacman, Tank, T.O., Primetime, and Debbie, as he becomes the next infamously nicknamed figure to don a Cowboys uniform. Some of you may think I'm crazy, that Terrell Owens and Ocho Cinco could never co-exist on the field. Think again, think harder—Chad Johnson has been sharing the limelight with T.J. Houshmandzadeh his entire career. Owens started his career with Jerry Rice, and the Cowboys arguably play better when the "T.O. Ratio" (stemming from the Randy Ratio) offensive strategy is not intact. What we saw this past week should be the NFL's definition of tampering. There was the T.O.-Jerry Jones-Ocho Cinco photo opp before the game. Jones even had Tony Romo toss Chad a pass, to see how it feels.
You can talk all you want in ...

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NFL, Chad Johnson, Dallas Cowboys, Terrell Owens, Jerry Jones

New Star Shining in The Lone Star State: Felix Jones Is The Next Big Thing

Jerry Jones sure hit a home run with this one.
This summer when Jerry supposedly demanded that Felix Jones, a product of his beloved Arkansas, be drafted in the first round despite possible problems in his defensive secondary among other places, critics wondered if it was the right move.
After all, the Cowboys already had Marion Barber, Julius Jones, and a damn good passing game. But I guess you can't ever have too many weapons. And I'm sure Jerry is glad he made the move now.
Simply put, Felix is a game-breaker . The dude gets to the endzone, is dynamic, fast, strong, tough, and smart. It's no coincidence that in Dallas' one loss, he didn't get any touches.
So now, the Cowboys are more deadly then ever. If they play it smart and actually pound the football with two of the better backs in the league, definitely one of the best tandems, they should be a lock for the Super Bowl.
No team has had a vertical threat to compliment a deadly running game like this since the Rams of the late '90s, ...

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NFL, Felix Jones, Dallas Cowboys, Jerry Jones, Julius Jones

Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo Go Ring Shopping

The Chicago Sun Times has reported that Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo was spotted bling shopping with Jessica Simpson.
In a sign that the economic slowdown is hurting even the uber-rich, the loving couple was shopping at Neiman Marcus. Either Jerry Jones does not pay his star enough, or Romo is one cheap bastard!

The lovely couple

Sky is the limit for new Dallas Cowboys stadium

Team owner Jerry Jones ensures glass-walled palace has all the over-the-top features one would expect, and is giddy at notion of fans enjoying experience once it opens at start of next season.
                         >

ARLINGTON, Texas -- It's more than an NFL stadium. It's the gleaming new home of the Dallas Cowboys, a $1.2-billion palace with glass walls, a translucent retractable roof, two quarter-mile-long arches and a high-definition video screen that stretches from one 20-yard-line to the other.

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NFL, Dallas Cowboys, Jerry Jones
