Oregon can start seriously thinking about a national
title run. As for Southern California, just winning the
Pac-10 could be a long shot at this point. Jonathan Stewart ran for 103 yards and two touchdowns and the fifth-ranked Ducks knocked off No. 9 USC 24-17 on Saturday.
Last week, Haze contributor Marc introduced you to
five rookies in the first edition of his weekly
column, the Rookie report. There was some clamoring in the comments for more rookie updates, particularly of one guy who may have the inside track to a starting gig in 2008. So the rookie report is back again this week with five more rookies for you to meet.

Running back Jonathan Stewart was drafted No. 13
overall by the Carolina Panthers.
As a result of the running back by
committee (RBBC) system and the high number of casualties
at the RB position, there is a wealth of RBs in 2008 drafts. Once you get beyond the elite and a few more starters, there is quite a large plateau of talent that could at least operate in a rotation for your fantasy team. (Fantasy Football)

Jonathan Stewart (5′11″ - 230 lbs.) is now
being named with the elite running backs and if
he continues his success could be the second running back taken in the draft. Stewart is still only a Junior so if he wants to he can go back to school and not enter the draft. As of now the only definite RB that is ahead of Stewart is the super star Darren McFadden

Even though these two teams are on different
coasts, they share one thing in common; both at
one time during the season were ranked #2 in the BCS. South Florida was the first to do it starting the season 6-0 before losing their next three games. Oregon reached #2, then lost the last three games of the season. The Ducks have not been the same team since losing starting quarterback Dennis Dixon.
Jonathan Stewart is your prototypical downhill runner with
a low center of gravity. However the junior from
Oregon also has the speed that NFL scouts want in a running back. Stewart runs with purpose every time he touches the ball. He is a workhorse back, showing that he could handle the load of carries by himself.
Darren McFadden’s ungodly speed, combined with great physical
size, makes him the most sought after skill position
player in this draft. Still, there are three reasons that McFadden might slide in this draft.

So I mentioned last week the dynasty league
in which I am participating this year at the
Fantasy Football Cafe, and the draft has now moved past round 4. After the first two rounds I had my starting runningback positions locked up with Clinton Portis (1.07) and Reggie Bush (2.06). This being a PPR league and all I decided it would be best to address two-of-the-three starting wide receivers ...
