Steelers safety Troy Polamalu did not practice all week because of a left knee injury and will not play Sunday in Kansas City. He may miss the Nov. 29 game at Baltimore as well. Polamalu sat out the Steelers' second through fifth games with a ligament tear, only to injure the same knee during an 18-12 loss to Cincinnati on Sunday. Polamalu's latest injury is to a different ligament. He wore a heavy brace as he watched practice this week.

So Dwayne Bowe has been suspended by the NFL for four games for substance abuse. Just what this team needs, another setback. To say that Bowe made a mistake is putting it mildly. How can a guy who is the strongest WR in the NFL feel he needed anything to add strength and in doing so, somehow, improve his performance? The issue here is it really doesn't matter what the substance is, just that it was enough to be suspended. What the future holds in store we can only guess. One would hope that Bowe will remain a Chief for years to come. One also may notice how important he is to this team's future. Home Loss to Chiefs Realistically Ends Oakland Raiders' Season

Oakland blew it hard today. There game against the Chiefs continued a trend that was hard to watch for Raider fans. Any hope the Raiders had of turning it around in the second half of the season slowly and dreadfully faded into oblivion at home against lowly Kansas City. Now we can officially declare over any false playoff hopes for Oakland. Their seventh-straight 10-loss season might as well be in the bag now, as well. In a game that Oakland should've won by at least 14 points, the Raiders failed to score for three straight quarters after starting the game on a roll with a 70-plus-yard touchdown drive set up by a Michael Bush 60-yard ramble that put the Raiders inside the Chiefs 5-yard line. Raiders punter Shane Lechler leads the NFL in gross punting average at 52.3 yards per punt. In the Raiders trip to Kansas City earlier this season, Lechler had his best game averaging 56.9 yards per punt on seven punts, including a 70-yarder. Lechler's punting style is one of power.
