Myers: Chad should be keeper of The Sanchize

The Jets made a mistake not having a veteran to guide rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez, to be his sounding board, to impart wisdom, to tell him what they saw when he made a mistake. It can't be Kellen Clemens.

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NFL, Mark Sanchez, Kellen Clemens

Clemens' time spent watching from sidelines as Jets' struggle

As Mark Sanchez bumbled and stumbled through the first half of last week's game in New England, plenty of people questioned whether the rookie should be benched.
Nevertheless, backup Kellen Clemens never let that thought cross his mind. The fourth...

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NFL, Mark Sanchez, England, Kellen Clemens, New York Jets

A no-show performance -- again

The Jets' locker room today resembled the pass defense in yesterday's loss to the Patriots -- lots of empty space.

Less than a dozen players made an appearances in the locker room during the media period, hardly a strong showing of accountability. Those who stopped to be interviewed were Kellen Clemens, Jerricho Cotchery, Damien Woody, Braylon Edwards, Bart Scott (briefly), James Dearth and David Clowney. I may have a missed a couple of players, but you get the drift.

Speaking to the media isn't always an accurate gauge of leadership, but it's an indication of accountability. Right now, there's a shortage of that around here. Worse, they're allowed to get away with it.

Speaking of no-shows, wait until Sunday's game at the Meadowlands. That will be a true indication of how far the Jets have fallien.
