Last year the 49ers were punished for tampering
with Lance Briggs of the Chicago Bears even though
the only evidence was a set of phone calls from the 49ers to Briggs' agent, Drew Rosenhaus. Using this same standard, the Vikings should be punished (via the loss of draft picks) by the NFL assuming a phone log check would show an unusual amount of activity between a Vikings coach and Favre.
