Cleveland Browns' wide receiver Joe Jurevicius recently contracted
a staph infection following a surgery to repair his
knee. This makes him the sixth Brown in the past four years to be diagnosed with a staph infection. The team expects him to be ready for practice in May and June
The Cleveland Browns are looking to change their
losing ways and their first steps are apparently to
acquire as many free agents as possible. During the last three weeks, the Browns have signed numerous players who they think can contribute on both sides of the ball. Last year, the Browns tried the same thing in the off season only to have their number one free agent, LeCharles ...
It's long been a fact that Ohio teams
have bad luck in well, every kind of sports
venture they partake in. Just this year, the state of Ohio came 2nd in college football, college basketball, NBA, arena league, and even some little-league thingy (to Florida no less).
With Matt Birk's status beyond this season in
doubt, the two-time Pro Bowl selection could be a
player of interest.
Via the Cleveland Plain Dealer, we’re graced with
what will likely be the best news Browns fans
have heard in quite some time: Center LeCharles Bentley has been cleared by the Browns medical staff to practice in minicamp.
Updated: 2 p.m. EDT Browns center LeCharles Bentley
has asked for his release from the Browns and
it's been granted, his agent Jonathan Feinsod said this afternoon. "LeCharles came back to Cleveland to be in integral part of the Cleveland...
The agent for LeCharles Bentley says the center
has asked for and received his release from the
Cleveland Browns.
I had a looong day with the law
gig and an even longer night at the little
league field, and I’m getting a chance right now to take a peek at the extremely fine pinch-hitting efforts of MDS and Josh Alper. And, of course, I’m exercising my ...
I’m hoping that this is the last time
that we have to talk about LeCharles Bentley, as
what looks like a mutual agreement on paper apparently has a lot more behind it. Today, ProFootballTalk published a small piece on the subject, and used some not-kind words to describe the organization’s feelings about the once-heralded center.
The Browns began OTA's without Kellen Winslow, who
looks like he's holding out for a new contract,
despite being paid like one of the top 3 TE's in the game. Hey Kellen, get over yourself!!
Phil Savage talks "Bentley" in a recent radio
interview. Apparently, the decision of his pending return will
be made on Monday. Browns fans are all ears.
Updated: 10:47 a.m. Plain Dealer FileLeCharles Bentley, shown
in a 2007 photo, will be back practicing with
the Browns today. Browns center LeCharles Bentley has been cleared by the Browns medical staff to practice in minicamp, which runs today through...
Joining LeCharles Bentley and the rest of the
Browns in today’s initial minicamp was tight end Kellen
Winslow. Though he didn’t participate in drills, he was seen “bouncing around” practice.
I knew it was only a matter of
time before we were graced with some bad news
related to the Browns. While wide receiver Joe Jurevicius was not expected to partake in this week’s minicamps, the Associated Press (via NFL.com) is reporting that he is now the sixth member of the Browns to contract staph infection...
Mark “Munch” Bishop from ESPN 850 (WKNR) had
the chance to speak with our former offensive lineman
to get the scoop. If you didn’t get a chance to hear it this afternoon, the audio is below...

Park today to visit with Detroit Lions officials and
even came out to watch a little bit of the morning workout. Before undergoing four surgeries on his leg in the last two years, Bentley was ...
Former Pro Bowl offensive lineman LeCharles Bentley, who
has not played the past two seasons because of
knee problems, was headed to St. Louis for a visit with the Rams and a physical Monday. Bentley, 28, earned two Pro Bowl berths for New Orleans, ...
Given the current playoff standings, the Cavaliers really
needed a win last night against the Orlando Magic.
But, once again, the second night of a back-to-back stint provided this Cleveland team with a flat second half - and a loss.
This time it is wide receiver Joe Jurevicius.
According to the PD, Jurevicius had a rather routine
knee clean-up at the Cleveland Clinic, and starting feeling symptoms a few weeks later. That makes at least 4 current Cleveland Browns that have had staph infections- Jurevicius, Braylon Edwards, Kellen Winslow and LeCharles Bentley. In addition, former Browns...
While a lot of the words out of
OTAs have focused on the Kellen Winslow absence, or
the pending (hopeful) return of LeCharles Bentley, the Plain Dealer has some news that should get even the most fair-weather Browns fans smile. Nope, not $1 beer night. How about Josh Cribbs on offense. “We’re putting in a nice package just to utilize...
