Chambers Taking Advantage of Opportunity With the Kansas City Chiefs

A few weeks ago, the Chargers released veteran wide receiver Chris Chambers after 2 and 1/2 sub-par seasons with the team. A short time later, the Chiefs signed Chambers, and he has been producing ever since. During Chambers first game with his new team, against Jacksonville, he caught a 54-yard bomb from Cassel, and made a great 5-yard TD catch that required him to just get both feet in bound to make the play. The next week at Oakland, Chambers made three catches for 60 yards, including a 30-yard sideline connection from QB Matt Cassel. As if Chambers hadn't done enough coming into yesterday's game against Pittsburgh, he had, by far, his most impressive showing in a Chiefs uniform in this game. With the Chiefs down 24-17 with time ticking out in the 4th quarter, Chris Chambers elevated his game to help his time in crunch-time. Ryan Succop's 22-yard field goal with 8:28 left in overtime lifted the Kansas City Chiefs to a come-from-behind 27-24 victory Sunday over the Pittsburgh Steelers, breaking a team-record 10-game home losing streak. The Steelers, with Charlie Batch replacing a shaken-up Ben Roethlisberger in overtime, had to punt on their first possession in overtime and the Chiefs faced third down when Matt Cassel connected with Chris Chambers, who went 61 yards before he was pushed out of bounds on the 4.

Dwayne Bowe Suspended Four Weeks: Fantasy Foot Ball Impact

Kansas City Chief's star receiver Dwayne Bowe has been suspended for four games after violating the league's performance-enhancing drugs policy. He will be unavailable for use by the Chiefs (and fantasy owners) immediately, and won't be back until Week 15. While this probably drops quarterback Matt Cassel's fantasy stock a bit, the real question is, how high can Chris Chambers' and Lance Long's stock climb? Odds are, fairly high . The Chiefs have found a new starting running back in Jamaal Charles, that is, if Todd Haley actually sticks with him, and while having Bowe around would surely help, both Chambers and Long were showing signs of coming along in the offense and connecting with Cassel.
