NFL 2010 Mock Draft: Rounds 1-3

Believe it or not, a lot has changed since I posted my mock draft a mere nine days ago. With 21 weeks to go until the 2010 draft, it's time to update my mock. I love doing this stuff. My order of draft picks, as always, is based on the current record of the team, and how I think they will finish at the end of the season. Brett Favre : How Can You Not Love The Guy?

If there is one player in the NFL that people love to see succeed, it is Brett Favre. To go along with that, if there is one player in the NFL I love to write about, it is Brett Favre. Coincidence? I think not. Brett Favre has stolen the hearts of NFL fans since the 1992 season when he became the starting quarterback for the Green Bay Packers. He is in his 19th season as an NFL quarterback, and he has done a pretty good job. Favre is the NFL leader in all time wins. That record stands for itself. But I'm not here to brag about Favre's records, I think we all know what he has done. Let's talk about the 2009 Minnesota Vikings' Brett Favre. The guy is remarkable. Through 10 weeks of NFL football he is leading the league in passer rating, something he has never done. Brett has thrown 17 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. Jay Cutler, the guy who was supposed to be the next Brett Favre, has thrown 17 interceptions this season. Ironic. Favre's 17-3 TD to INT ratio is easily the best of his ...

Childress spoke briefly to reporters after practice Thursday, but did not say an agreement has been reached. He said there was a document waiting on his desk that he intended to look over. Dick Jauron's firing is the latest signal of big trouble for the Bills. Making poorly timed decisions is nothing new for the Buffalo Bills. They should have fired Dick Jauron at the end of the 2008 season, following his third consecutive 7-9 campaign. A coach who had three consecutive losing seasons, with his team showing no improvement, did not deserve another chance in today's NFL. The competition is too fierce; the decisions that coaches make are too pivotal. Jauron already had enough time to prove he had the Bills headed in the right direction. He didn't. And the Bills paid for it with another disappointing season, leading to Jauron getting the ax on Tuesday. Waiting for the Detroit Lions to become available for the media is not a rewarding job. The mood is morose, and mostly depressing. The Detroit local media are pals and get along rather well, but even they find it hard to joke around as they wait to ask another round of questions to a 1-8 team. I recognized the usual faces. Tom Kowalski is, literally, the size of many NFL linemen—just not as wide. John Niyo, in person, looks nothing like Rob Parker. Brian VanOchten is quiet and unassuming and just tall enough to have the top of his head at eye level. As the locker room opened, one could still hear the random noise of athletes tossing chairs or equipment across the room in frustration.
