Hey guys, Rex Ryan just finished what may be his shortest press conference in his tenure as head coach. It wasn't because he was in a bad mood or anything. I think the media is all out of questions to ask him. Anyways, Ryan said LB Vernon Gholston (hamstring) is out. S Jim Leonhard (thumb) is questionable and may be a game-time decision on whether he can play with a cast on his broken thumb. DE Shaun Ellis (knee) and WR Brad Smith (quad) and LB Bryan Thomas (toe) are all probable for the Patriots game.

That has been a problem for the Chicago Bears' Jay Cutler, Atlanta Falcons' Matt Ryan and New York Jets' Mark Sanchez. Their teams have taken a November nosedive, a combined 2-6 this month, facing critical games Sunday. Jay Cutler His woes: He leads the NFL in interceptions (17), including five against the 49ers last week. Too many of Cutler's mistakes have occurred in the red zone, costing the Bears (4-5) points. "It's hard to win a football game when you have five turnovers,"' head coach Lovie Smith said. Some of Cutler's interceptions have been bad throws. Some have been caused by miscommunication between Cutler and his receivers. But the bottom line is this. With Jim Leonhard (thumb surgery) not expected to play, and with 2009 PR Leon Washington out for the season, the Jets will have a new punt returner Sunday at the Patriots _ Jerricho Cotchery. He hasn’t returned punts since 2005. Leonhard was replaced last week by CB Darrelle Revis, but the Jets don't want to expose their best defensive player on punt returns. So special teams coach Mike Westhoff basically held an open audition. "We put an ad in the paper," he cracked. They'll go with Cotchery because he's the most sure-handed. As far as kickoff returns, it looks like it'll be Dwight Lowery and Brad Smith again. Recently-signed Justin Miller, benched last week, probably won't be active. But the coaches raved about his performance at cornerback in today's practice. Dwight Lowery and Brad Smith will share the kickoff-return duties for the second straight week. David Clowney also may get a look.

New York York Jets head coach Rex Ryan and quarterback Mark Sanchez have demonstrated that in recent days, as the Jets are in crisis mode, having lost five of their last six games. On Monday, Ryan cried in a team meeting. Soon after, he fired one of his coaches and release a backup cornerback. Meanwhile, Sanchez was immature by setting up his own press conference and attempting to avoid questions after the Jets' frustrating loss on Sunday. These actions are evidence of the turmoil the Jets are in. These sorts of actions are never good, especially with several weeks to go until the regular season is over. Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum should be very concerned with the way Ryan is approaching his team's slump. While everyone thinks the rookie head coach is showing his passion, his recent actions send the wrong message to his players, that he is frustrated with what is going on.
