Reggie Bush: Back For The Pack?

New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush is listed as questionable for Monday night's showdown with the Green Bay Packers.
Bush has been sidelined since October 19th when he injured his knee returning a punt against the Carolina Panthers. Bush went threw a full practice on Thursday, on a limited basis, and according to head Coach Sean Payton he "fared well" going through his snaps.
Bush was held out of practice on Friday, strictly as a precautionary measure, and is expected to return to practice on Saturday. Both Payton and Bush are optimistic that he will be on the field for Monday night's game. Bush will most likely be a game time decision.
Bush still leads the team in total touchdowns with eight despite being out for the last three games. On the season Bush has totaled 294 yards rushing with two touchdowns as well as 366 yards receiving with three touchdowns. Bush is also a dynamic punt returner amassing 366 yards and three touchdowns so far this season.

Reggie Bush Progressing But Sits Out Practice

The last time that New Orleans Saints' running back and punt returner extraordinaire Reggie Bush played in a Monday Night Football game, he took two punts back for touchdowns and nearly took another one back.
Now, his status for the Monday night game against the Green Bay Packers is unknown after suffering a knee injury while returning a punt against the Carolina Panthers earlier this year.
Bush sat out Friday's practice but with the Monday night game coming up, Head Coach Sean Payton decided to give Bush an extra day of rest. His status will be determined today by the staff.
The 5-5 Saints could certainly use Bush's explosiveness in the Superdome where they need to win, not just to stay in the playoff race but to send a message to the NFL that they are still in this thing.
Bush says that he thinks that he will be ready to go against the Pack and he may even return punts.

MVP or MIP - Who is more Important for the Saints?

For the New Orleans Saints, Drew Brees may be the Most Valuable Player, but Reggie Bush’s absence (due to injury), has proven he is their Most Important Player. Without any doubt, Brees’ performance is outstanding in the Saints offensive scheme. However, Reggie Bush is indeed the centerpiece of the team’s offensive attack. The Saints appeared lost without Bush. Payton appeared lost. A lost sense of identity. They lacked a sense of purpose. Why is it so and how can this be true?

Last year, Deuce McAllister’s absence left the Saints’ “playoff dreams” in doubt. Reggie steps in and the spotlight shined. However, this was also when the microscopes of the critics and defensive coaches were used to dissect Reggie and the Saints attack. Defenses keyed in on Bush and Bush alone. Without a Deuce and running game, the one-dimensional Saints were easy to figure out. Reggie and the Saints were like ants under a magnifying glass. He performed adequately, ...

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NFL, New Orleans Saints, Reggie Bush

Shockey, Patten active for Saints against Falcons

Tight end Jeremy Shockey and receiver David Patten were active, but running back Reggie Bush was not for the New Orleans Saints' game at Atlanta on Sunday.

The Saints listed Bush as out on Friday as the running back recovers from surgery to repair the meniscus in his left knee.

Shockey, who missed three games because of sports hernia surgery in Week 4, has played in pain in two games since his return, but has been helped by a bye week.

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NFL, New Orleans Saints, Atlanta Falcons, Jeremy Shockey, David Patten, Reggie Bush
