A great look at Torry Holt's outburst in
the Rams' Thursday game against the Steelers by one
of my fellow MVN writers. Scott Linehan, I hope you're reading this.
Those who watched the St. Louis Rams open
the season sensed quarterback Marc Bulger couldn't survive long
under the number of hits he took. They were right. Bulger Frerotte Concerned about the punishment absorbed by Bulger, who has played at least the ...
So now on top of everything else that
has made this the ultimate season from hell, we
have this shocking indignity. The always reserved, completely laid back, 24-7 politically correct superstar wide receiver is caught on camera in a very public, ...
Ok, this just scares me as a Rams
fan. I know we’ve been having a tough year
and all but this is just out of control. On the Rams page at AOL Fanhouse, there was an article about how the Rams struggles aren’t all Scott Linehan’s fault. I agree with that. But, the author also went on to quote STLtoday Rams columnist Bernie Miklasz. Here’s the biggest problem the Rams have right now, and it ...
Their ego's led to the firing of successful
coaches and the hiring of comically inept coaches.
SEATTLE -- While yet another Sunday afternoon debacle
unfolded for the Rams, broadcast reports swirled that head
coach Scott Linehan might be fired during the bye week, which follows the team's Oct. 28 contest against Cleveland. Rams President John ...
If there's one thing I've learned about St.
Louis sports fans, it's this: winning isn't enough. If
you don't do it their way, you'll never be accepted. Example: Whitey Herzog should forever be remembered for his cowardice in this city, but he's worshipped.
Well, I am very relieved that Scott Linehan
made this decision. Today, he made Gus Frerotte the
starting quarterback of the St. Louis Rams…for the next week. Frerotte will start this Sunday’s game against the Cardinals at home. For the rest check out the story link.
For many St. Louisians, this was to be
glorious sports weekend. The Cardinals, the Rams and Blues
(FYI: they're a hockey team - look it up) were playing, and tens of people were excited about something called the Tour of Missouri, which is exactly like the Tour De France - without the mountains. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out that way.
In an abrupt about-face, Rams coach Scott Linehan
is going with Gus Frerotte as his starting quarterback
Sunday against Arizona and benching injured Pro Bowler Marc Bulger. On both Sunday and Monday, Linehan gave Bulger a strong endorsement, saying ...
Quarterback benchings happen all the time. A QB
isn't effective, he gets benched. A QB gets hurt,
he gets benched. A QB isn't often benched because the team doesn't want him to keep getting hurt as a result of his line's awfulness . Concerned ...
Every NFL team has now played eight games,
meaning the season has reached the halfway point. So
this week we're presenting our NFL FanHouse Midseason Midtacular . Worst Coach of the Half-Season nominees: Cam Cameron , Miami Dolphins: His team is ...
It’s official. Despite the 0-8 start to the
season, despite the obvious play-calling and strategy blunders during
games, and despite being downright awful all season long, the Rams and coach Scott Linehan will be together next year. In one ...
Half the team is in the hospital, the
record is 3-10 and fast deteriorating, and the coach
isn’t the best coach out there. But it could be worse, Rams fans, because the coach isn’t the worst coach out there either. No, that ...
Chris Long Rams head coach Scott Linehan talks
with defensive end Chris Long after Long's first practice
with an NFL team Friday during a Rams minicamp at the Russell Training Center in Earth City. (Chris Lee/P-D)
Seeking camaraderie and cohesion among his troops —
plus a desire to do things differently from last
year, when the Rams slumped to 3-13 and the bottom of the NFC West standings — coach Scott Linehan decided a few months ago that the team would ...
St. Louis Rams quarterback Marc Bulger , who
skipped a mandatory meeting Thursday when the team reported
to training camp, has agreed in principle to a six-year, $62.5 million contract that secures his future in St. Louis beyond 2007. Bulger's new ...
ST. LOUIS -- The St. Louis Rams cut
11 players Friday, including sixth-round draft pick Ken Shackelford
and running back J.D. Washington, the son of actor Denzel Washington. The cuts left the Rams with 64 players. Teams must have their 53-player ...
St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson will
miss at least one week with a partial tear
of his left groin, an injury sustained in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 24-3 loss at Tampa Bay. Rookie Brian Leonard, a second-round pick from Rutgers, will get his first start Sunday at Dallas. Coach Scott Linehan said Jackson would be week to week.
Sports Columnist Bernie Miklasz [More columns] At some
point, you just run out of things to say.
Oh, I suppose I can work up a lather and fake some outrage and rip coach Scott Linehan and the Rams again. But near the end of the team's 34-31 loss to ...
