last week in which Brett Favre, Packers GM Ted
Thompson and head coach Mike McCarthy discussed the possibility of Favre returning to Green Bay this season. That conversation ended with Favre seeking his unconditional release from the Packers.

It was great news reading about Ted Thompson’s
contract extension today. I think it is richly deserved
since Thompson has re-built the Packers into contenders while leaving them in great shape financially. Now Thompson will be in charge of the Packers operations until 2012.
