The NFL Supplemental Draft is on Thursday and
there are a couple of prospects who will likely
be picked up and cost their new teams a pick in next year's draft. History says that caveat emptor is the best policy, however, as most players acquired in this fashion don't pan out at the next level.
This is a link from my sister blog,
Patriot Reign, where we broke down the rumor of
Tedy Bruschi's heart attack. In essence, the story is a giant tale of telephone, with a seasoning of everything that's wrong with an overblown, hyper-competitive sports media market. It's a story from the seedy underbelly of sports media, at its best.

Yet another installment of networks cutting to player
audio at the wrong time. This time with Tedy
Bruschi of the New England Patriots on 9/14/08. He apparently really wanted the ref to throw the f-ing flag.
I mean really?.....have you seen that headband that
New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick wears on the
sidelines? With all that hair spilling over the sides? A little mas o menos if you ask me. Then I did some digging and found out what Billy really has been up to with all those cameras, scissors, headsets and head-bands. Yes, he got the boys together and formed a band, the Pecan ...
NEW YORK ( Feb. 20, 2007 ) --
In the midst of all the baby talk and
baseball talk emanating from New England is another storyline of note. Patriots linebacker Tedy Bruschi , who hinted at retirement after New England lost to Indianapolis in the...
There was an extraordinarily awful rumor floating about
these interwebs tonigh that Teddy Bruschi was dead. That
he'd committed suicide. Just in case you were concerned ... He'd didn't. Teddy Bruschi is doing just fine. I love the good that the internet and blogging provides, but with it comes the bad. Who knows how such an awful rumor was started. Bruschi is fine.
I forget the year (think it was '05),
but this was from Gillette Stadium during a Patriots/Dolphins
game. If I remember right, the Patriots won the game 19-0 and Teddy Bruschi had a fumble return for a TD. As for the snow, there was a massive blizzard the night before. I remember watching the game on TV and seeing piles of snow that engulfed entire sections in the stadium. I'd never seen ...
I really hoped for a way that both
of these two individuals could have been stopped, but
I guess in the end it just wasn't meant to be. First up is Bill Belichick, and while I understand competition I think the only true members of that Patriots team ...

There were plenty of celebrations on Monday night
against Denver like this one between LeKevin Smith and

A reader who sent it in, is that
he took his girlfriend's little brother to meet Tedy
Bruschi, described as the lad's "hero." Tedy resisted at first, and didn't know what the shocker was ... I imagine this is how he'll be finding out. Here you go, Tedy ... sorry you had to find out like this. But hey, now that you know, don't hesitate to experiment with it."

In the third edition of a week long
preview of the Colts vs. Pats (deemed El Clásico
after a world famous European football rivalry between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid), I’ll take a look at the linebackers for each team. Patriots Mike Vrabel, Tedy Bruschi, Adalius Thomas, Junior Seau, Roosevelt Colvin : The Patriots possess the most dangerous set of linebackers in the NFL.
Rosevelt Colvin has been placed on injured reserve
and will miss the rest of the season. Colvin
left Sunday’s game against the Eagles with an apparent arm or foot injury (depending on who you talk to). In his absence, Adalius Thomas is the likely candidate to take his place on the edge. This will mean an expanded role for ILBs Junior Seau and Tedy Bruschi. The Patriots also signed LB ...
