Dolphins NT Ferguson done for the season

Miami Dolphins nose tackle Jason Ferguson is out for the season with a quadriceps injury. Dolphins coach Tony Sparano on Monday confirmed the decision to place Ferguson on injured reserve and said he wasn't sure if Ferguson would need surgery. The Dolphins (5-5) face the Buffalo Bills (3-7) on Sunday. The team had a light workout Monday, which was not open to the media. Ferguson, who turns 35 on Saturday, has been in on 23 tackles in nine games this season.

Brown out for next Dolphins game, maybe longer

Miami Dolphins running back Ronnie Brown will miss Thursday night's game at Carolina because of an injured right foot, and his status for the rest of the regular season is uncertain. The Dolphins' leader rusher was to see a specialist for further evaluation, coach Tony Sparano said Tuesday. Brown was hurt in Sunday's win over Tampa Bay. Ricky Williams will replace Brown and start for the first time this season. He'll also become the primary triggerman if the Dolphins run the wildcat formation.
