Don’t expect to see Alexander Ovechkin in the Capitals lineup for at least the next two games, possibly more. Ovechkin skated yesterday but is still favoring a shoulder.
Ovechkin returned to practice Thursday – a short session that featured a heavy dose of intense skating. ...

Hockeyguy08 posted 2 days ago from crashthecrease.com

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NHL, Alexander Ovechkin, Washington Capitals, Bruce Boudreau

After returning to practice Thursday, Alex Ovechkin did not taking the pre-game skate at BankAtlantic Center this morning. That doesn't necessarily mean he's had a setback, but when asked how he's feeling today, he said only, "Same." Ovechkin is expected to miss at least the next two games with a strain near his left shoulder. "It's getting better every day," Coach Bruce Boudreau said. "But [in terms] of percentages or degrees, I don't know. He might be one percent better. It's going to take time. Fleischmann-Backstrom-Knuble Laich-Morrison-Semin Fehr-Perreault-Clark Laing-Steckel-Bradley As most of you already saw, Mathieu Perreault was recalled and Keith Aucoin was reassigned to Hershey this morning.
Boudreau: Ovechkin might not play Wednesday

Alex Ovechkin managed to sneak out through a back door at Ketter Capitals Iceplex this afternoon after receiving treatment on what is believed to be a left arm or shoulder injury, and thus avoided a handful of reporters who were camped outside of the Arlington practice facility. But Slava Malamud of Moscow-based Sport-Express told me he caught up with Ovechkin on the phone. According to Malamud, Ovechkin declined to divulge the precise location or nature of his injury but said that "tests" taken came ...

KK Hockey found this 5 days ago on voices.washingtonpost.com

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NHL, Alexander Ovechkin, Washington Capitals, New Jersey Devils, Bruce Boudreau, Florida Panthers

Stop me if you've heard this one before: The Caps collect two points, but an uneven effort leaves Coach Bruce Boudreau fuming afterward. Well, it happened yet again. Before a paltry crowd tonight at Philips Arena, the Caps went up 3-0 on the Ilya Kovalchuk-less Thrashers, then inexplicably let up late in the second period. While it didn't cost them against Atlanta, a similar effort wouldn't have been good enough against a better team.
