In this case it may be Jesus Figueroa,

For the Labour Day weekend this year, Early
and I decided to take a road trip to
see the Jays play those damn Yankees before Yankee Stadium becomes a pile of rubble. On the way back, we decided to pass through Cooperstown and unleash our inner 12 year olds at the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

A few weeks ago, I travelled to Yankee
Stadium with fellow MUD.com writer Early. One of the
striking memories I have was the unmistakeable recording of Derek Jeter’s introduction by the legendary voice of the Yankees, Bob Sheppard.

Micah Hoffpauir is a mashing 1B in the
Cubs system, currently at AAA and blocked by Derrek
Lee. For a team looking for a lefthanded masher, Hoffpauir just might be 2008’s version of Jack Cust in Oakland.

For minor league baseball franchises, Canada has become
a different field of dreams. With the exception of
Vancouver, the old business model, where major league clubs supplied players - and more importantly, paid their salaries and travel expenses - has disappeared like Shoeless Joe into an Iowa cornfield.

rapidly rising through the Yankees’ farm system, and it
is no coincidence that general manager Brian Cashman drove to Scranton to watch him pitch Tuesday night.

By the turn of the 21st century, it
had become routine for Major League Baseball players to
remain productive deep into their 30s and into their 40s. Players who are in their mid-30s suddenly look … well, kind of like they did before the Steroid Era. What does this mean for their fantasy owners?

I know we like to rag on Jays
fans from time to time but this time they
actually did something cool. A-Rod hasn’t had as warm a welcome since he was rolling with that stripper the last time he was in the Tdotz. Here are some pics of A-Rod being treated to a gallery of Madonna photos while standing in the Batters Box.
