I'm a 20 something tire changer for a major NASCAR team. I run a blog with a partner and I'm always looking for good NASCAR content to stimulate my brain. Web Site: The Nascar Insiders Claimed Blog: The NASCAR Insiders BallHype Member since May 21, 2008 |

With Martinsville now in the books, we march
ever closer to the end of the 2008 season....
And although the picture is starting to become clear for next season, there are still a few unknowns to sort out. Updates and info on AJ Allmendinger, the 41 Target Dodge, and the Petty-DEI Merger.

From where I sat on Sunday, it looked
like Regan Smith had a victory stolen from him....
Now, I am normally one to at least try and justify the actions of NASCAR. For better or worse I can usually see where they stand on certain issues. This one lacked sense to me.

Power within the NASCAR world is all important.
Those who wield it, wield a great amount. Those...
without it are at the mercy of those with it. Such is the case with the most powerful men in NASCAR, the three series directors.

Can somebody please explain to me at what
point it became commonplace to openly discuss sponsorship deals...
that were “in the works” or “close” to being done? I’m going to pick on two organizations here, but they certainly aren’t the only offenders...

I had an interesting email today from a
reader regarding the pit crew changes made by Robbie...
Reiser and the Roush Fenway Cup teams. During the weeks leading up to the Chase, the crew chiefs and management at RFR decided to make some changes to some of their pit crews in order to strengthen...

If there is one thing that can be
said about NASCAR, it is that they are not...
in a big hurry to do things. The introduction of the new drug policy after years of high profile incidents comes just in time for the start of the 2009 season. While the changes are certainly necessary and a long time...

Mergers are the talk all over NASCAR as
sponsorship money becomes tighter and the divide between competitive...
organizations becomes larger. These deals have come into focus in recent weeks, with Gillett Evernham Motorsports rumored to be acquiring at least part of Bill Davis Racing...

Since Sunday’s race at Richmond, there has been
a lot of discussion around the Internet (including right...
here) about the comments Tony Stewart made to his pit crew following his second place finish at the Chevy Rock & Roll 400. In a nutshell, Stewart openly blamed his pit crew and their last pit...

There is no doubt that if you’ve ever
watched a race from ARCA all the way up...
to Cup, you’ve seen a pit stop. The driver comes to pit road and the seven man crew springs into action putting on four fresh tires and filling the tank fuel of Sunoco race fuel. There are many different variations on...

In a rare reversal today, the National Stock
Car Racing Commission removed the probation penalties against Joey...
Logano and Tony Stewart. The points penalties still stand. If you do not remember the team was heavily penalized by NASCAR for spacers placed on the throttle to manipulate dyno tests...

Here we go again. For those of you
that don’t know, after the Nationwide Series race at...
Michigan on Saturday, the Joe Gibbs Racing Nationwide Series teams were discovered to have put magnets under the accelerators so NASCAR inspectors wouldn’t be able to get an accurate read on horsepower on the chassis dyno. If you’ll remember a few weeks back, NASCAR changed the rules in the Nationwide...

Have you ever heard that saying about opinions?
Well I have one for you. Since the word...
came that Michael McDowell would be pulled out of the #00 MWR car for three races, message boards have been a buzz with negativity about the young driver. The criticism though is unfair. While his performance this season has not been championship caliber, it is not as abysmal as it could have been...

race at Homestead and the banquet is behind you....
Nine months of constant travel and 50 hour weeks have come to an end and a three month vacation is headed your way. Think again! The work for your next season is just beginning and it is a long road to Daytona at the end of February. From testing to media, professional sport’s longest season really never...

Racing is a team sport. Maybe more so
then the other major professional sports in this country....
One guy’s effort and performance cannot carry an entire race team. I don’t care how good you might think a driver is, if the equipment isn’t right or pit stops are bad, he won’t win. But something that I have started to see and realize in my own situation over the last few months...
