official roster for the men’s squad who will compete
in the Summer Olympics in China next month. --- For the Olympics men’s soccer tournament, each qualified nation sends their u-23 national team. --- Each squad is permitted to add three players who are older; in the USA’s case, the 3 ‘over-aged’ players are Brad Guzan, Brian McBride, and Michael Parkhurst.

got off to a fine start in the 2008
Olympic Games by earning a 1-0 victory against Japan before 37,177 fans at the Tianjin Olympic Center Stadium. --- Stuart Holden fired home the game's only goal in the 47th minute to hand the U.S. three points and the early lead in Group B. --- The U.S. next faces Netherlands on Aug. 10...
August 10 --- US Soccer: On Sunday night,
the USA Men battled the Netherlands to a 2-2
tie in their second match of Group B play. --- The Dutch took an early lead, but the U.S. responded with Sacha Kljestan's goal in the 64th minute, followed by a goal from Jozy Altidore eight minutes later. --- USA and Nigeria are now tied atop the group.
