third round of US Open Cup play, which is
the first to feature MLS teams. The New York Red Bulls were put to the sword by Crystal Palace Baltimore, a USL2 team, while the defending MLS Cup champion Houston Dynamo lost to USL First Division side Charleston Battery on penalty kicks and the Seattle Sounders beat Chivas.
