Syracuse's Courier Dome plays host to many sports besides football. The Orange basketball and lacrosse teams also call the dome home. After a Feb. 16 basketball game against Georgetown, Daily Orange photographer Rachel Fus shot more than 300 still images of the court being taken away in preparation for a Feb. 17 lacrosse match against Villanova. At a time when I should be really excited about IU's chances in the Big Ten and NCAA Tournaments....I'm left wondering which IU team is going to show up. Will it be the aggressive, hard charging team that runs through opponents or the team that looks confused and immature....I guess we'll find out tonight. IU opens its Big Ten Tourney slate tonight against Minnesota in a game they should ...Georgetown Wins

NEW YORK--Georgetown took advantage of 104 percent three-point shooting and foul trouble that happily kept both its centers safely on the bench to easily dispatch Villanova, 82-63 in a Big East quarterfinal this afternoon. The Georgetown student section celebrated the victory with an "N.I.T." chant directed at Villanova, which might or might be accurate. Wildcats Coach Jay Wright mourned the ...Villanova Cries Foul

I believe he got fouled. Guessing this won't be the only such sign we'll see today. Some Georgetown student apparently got her hands on this sign and ripped it, forcing the Villanova fan to tape it back together. "I guess they don't learn about destruction of property at Georgetown," one of this guy's friends said. Incidentally, not to keep beating this drum, so to speak, but the George Mason ...Once, Twice, Three Times A Lady!

Penn State will face Illinois today in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament and attempt to make Illinois their bitch for the third time this year (get it? three times a lady? lame?). Tip off is at 2:30, which gives us all a convenient way to check out from work for the day during mid-afternoon. Hooray headphones! The All-Big Ten awards are out, and between first, second, third, honorable mention, all defense and all freshman, only now-injured Jamelle Cornley was given any recognition: third team, which somehow has six members. Compare that with three and four awards for some of the better programs and we have ourselves a good o'l fashion talent gap. Wow, two basketball posts in one day. Yesterday was indeed a great day. I first have to give some love to the Purdue women's basketball team as they accomplished quite a feat yesterday in winning their seventh Big Ten Tournament. In doing so they clinched their 15 th consecutive NCAA bid. The women's basketball team has clearly been the best sports program at Purdue over the last decade. They consistently have been a top 10 team ...Famous People Like the Hoyas

The Secretary of State, with Jack the Bulldog. At least a dozen shirtless members of the Georgetown crew team made their way to the front of the student section yesterday, sporting spandex shorts, painted chests, mohawks and the like. Louisville played Georgetown to the wire before losing, 55-52, to finish second in the Big East to the Hoyas. It was a close win for Georgetown, which to Rick Pitino's way of thinking, has won too many close games. According to D.C. Getty photo. Today's Georgetown-Louisville game was great stuff, and you'd have to figure there's a high chance these teams play again next week in New York. Which is why Pitino continuing to go out of his way to get himself posted on some sort of locker room bulletin board seemed odd, if nothing else. Recap Box Score Thoughts Illinois is a bad basketball team. I'll go as far to say I have no idea how they have won games this year. They have little to no offense outside of Pruitt, and even then, he's really not all that good. They can't seem to hit a free throw which really killed them last night when they got into the bonus early and missed some freebies. From the MSU side of things, ...
