Just a short post today but I thought this new record was interesting. On Sunday night, the Philadelphia Phillies became the first team in history to lose 10,000 games. Keep in mind, however, that this franchise got its start on May 1, 1883; much earlier than most. Spectators and rivals alike are doing their best to pull all negative aspects of this record to the forefront. Manager Tony La Russa.. [link]

Sure, the 10,000 loss mark is a testament to the Phillies futility over the last dozen or so decades, but really it just points out that the Phillies are a really, really old franchise.
