Detroit Lions. Look, if Matt Millen hadn't taken a wide receiver in four of the past five drafts, Calvin Johnson would've been a great pick. But he did. So it's not. Drew Stanton had trouble throwing spirals at his Pro Day, and I don't know about you, but shouldn't that be an NFL quarterback prerequisite? Oh, and Detroit only finagled a fourth-round pick out of Oakland for former top-10 pick ... [link]

Remember when Joey Harrington was drafted and everybody knew he had excellent physical skills, but nobody knew if he had 'it'? Well, Drew Stanton has 'it.' The Lions love this kid because he might do anything great, but he does everything well and, beyond that, he's got great character and leadership abilities.

Matt Millen may have finally posted a halfway decent draft day for the Lions, even though he drafted another wide receiver. Calvin Johnson has talent, Mike Williams was shipped away, and he acquired several additional second round picks.
