The Terps will play four guards this season,
but considering they don’t defend and don’t shoot like
the usual small-balling Duke University, it will be interesting to see how the Terps fare in their Run-and-Gun style with Greivis Vasquez as the primary trigger man.

Gary Williams Ready for the End of the World
D.C. Sports Bog —
... chance Gary Williams would ride a non-standard vehicle to Center Court, maybe I would have gone up to College Park. (Or down to Georgetown, I guess, had I realized that Dikembe Mutombo, Jerry Rice, Bill Raftery and the dancing daughter of John Thompson III would all be at Georgetown's event, that also could have been an option.) Save for later: jokes about Gary sweating inside the armored vehicle, jokes about ...
Terps Picked Seventh, Gary Talks Smack

... ancient history. It is not as ancient history as Duke’s last title” in 2001. (ed. note — Snap!)
Peden: I echo Brad’s comments. If you play 3 and 4 guards in today’s game, you can win games. Not going to win anything big like the ACC or go on a run in the NCAA but you can get to 20 wins. MD has a lot of guards and we are going to see a faster game like he played in his early years at MD.

Those In-and-Out Maryland Terrapins
stetsports.com 11/7/2008 — Suffice it to say that we know absolutely nothing about the Terps. One game, they can look like a balanced offense with a bend-but-don’t-break defense. Other times, they look like they could easily be Clemson; full of talent and short on execution.
Maryland Wins Big on Bye Week

Of Course Maryland Beat North Carolina
stetsports.com 11/16/2008 — The bad news? Florida State is likely to be unranked when they visit College Park next week, and if the Terps lose, their road game against the Eagles is likely to be a must win that the Terps won’t likely win.
Beating ranked teams never made Terps fans so queasy.
