Latest Mock Drafts

... Matusz (unchanged from last week) Giants - CA Buster Posey (unchanged from last week) Marlins - CA Kyle Skipworth (unchanged from last week) Reds - 1B Yonder Alonso (RHP Aaron Crow last week) White Sox - SS Gordon Beckham (unchanged from last week) Nationals - 1B Justin Smoak (unchanged from last week) Interestingly enough, Mayo’s latest mock draft has the Nationals choosing from Crow and Smoak. Since Ethan hits 95MPH with his fastball, his draft status will probably not change. As soon as the ump ripped his mask off he said to the catcher, “What in the hell are you doing?” If this was an attempt to “get back” at the ump for “bad calls”, just imagine how small this kid’s strike zone will be next year. The catcher graduates, so he won’t get punished. Had this pitch hit the ump in the throat, who knows what would’ve happened. No tubes like ...

... happening in the NFL right now, so I'm going to write about what's interesting to me (which, I promise, will be football again soon), and right now, that's the MLB Draft. Now, I don't know enough about the prospects available this year to have any idea who the Twins should be looking to select with the two first round picks they have. I'm not going to break it down like I did for the NFL Draft (though, if you're looking for mock drafts, you can find one here, here, or here and if you want a organizational breakdown, Seth has a great one at his site). ...

... what we might be targetting. I haven't paid much attention, and the MLB draft is not like the NFL or NBA draft. There isn't a whole lot of mocks or discussion on picks past the top ten or so. Here are a few links and tidbits I've gathered up. MLB.com/Jonathan Mayo: Josh Fields, RHP No, not that Josh Fields of the White Sox, but a reliever from Georgia. Baseball America: Ryan Perry, RHP Another right handed pitcher. My MLB Draft: Allan Dykstra, 1B First baseman from Wake Forest ...
