2008 NFL Draft order
The Miami Dolphins will make the first choice of the 2008 NFL Draft on April 26-27. The order of the first round of the 2008 Draft was announced today by the NFL. The Dolphins choice will be followed by the St. Louis Rams picking second and either the Atlanta Falcons or Oakland Raiders third. Atlanta, Kansas City, and Oakland had the same strength-of-schedule in the 2007 season. Since Kansas ...

Pats pick 7th
Extra Points — The NFL released its 2008 draft order today, and the Patriots will be picking seventh in the first round. The seventh overall pick comes via the San Francisco 49ers, who finished 5-11. The Patriots acquired the pick a trade made during the 2007 draft. New England traded a first-round pick (28th overall) to the 49ers for a 2008 first-round pick and a 2007 fourth-round pick. The 49ers used the selection on OT Joe Staley. The draft order can be seen here on NFL.com.

Lions to Pick 15th in '08 Draft
Pride Of Detroit — ... Some explanations for how the order got to be how it is can be found here. It gets awfully complicated for how all of these ties were dealt with, but the link will tell you how things were sorted out. For the Lions, they will be the final 7-9 team to pick since their strength of schedule is so good. They did end up tying with the Bears in that category as well, but since Chicago's divisional record was worse, they got to pick 14th instead of Detroit.

Happy New Year, Buffalo Rumblings Community!
Buffalo Rumblings — Happy New Year! May we hope these fireworks represent the Bills' off-season. Welcome to 2008, Bills fans! Once again, I'd like to extend my heart-felt appreciation to all of you who make Buffalo Rumblings a routine stop of yours. Trust me - 2007 was pretty good to Rumblings; 2008 will bring exciting new changes (in the next few months, mind you) that will blow your minds. Bank on it. With the Bills now fully in off-season mode (they cleaned out their lockers yesterday), Rumblings will make that transition as well. Starting (hopefully) later on this evening, we'll begin our off-season schedule, which I'll lay out below. ...

Patriots begins the New Year 0-0
New England Patriots — Despite having won their last game versus the New York Giants and finishing the season with a record breaking 16-0 record, the new year and playoffs level the field of competition. A loss in the playoffs means no chance for the Super Bowl. Bill Belichick is always taking it one game at a time and after the game versus the Giants commented to the New York Times, “But we have a lot of football left to play, and the next time we step on teh field, we’ll be 0-0 in the second season. So we have still a lot to look forward to.” The AFC playoff scenario for the Patriots is interesting as they may play one of ...

Learning from Tampa Bay and looking ahead
Eye of the Panther — *Sigh* The 2007 season is finally over after lingering for about eight games more than anyone had wanted. The 31-23 victory against the Bucs provided an interesting game to try out some new things. So, on top of every other game of the season WITHOUT JAKE DELHOMME (because Carolina was switched on with him at quarterback), what did we learn from the Tampa Bay game? *Matt Moore is the second-string quarterback. After all, he was the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month! The guy has potential, and at this point, he has ingrained himself as the second-string quarterback. Things can certainly change with the draft and training camp ahead, but ...

First Look: 2008 NFL Draft
Hogs Haven — Sincethebeginning and others have already started looking forward to the team needs in the offseason, which got me started thinking.  They have identified WR, OL, DL and DB as the main areas of need. It is never too early to look forward to the most bloggerish off-season topic: the NFL Draft.  Months and months of predictions, arguments and prognosticating from mainly uninformed people comes down to a few hours of totally uninspiring April television. The 2008 NFL Draft takes place April 26-27 in New York.  Your WASHINGTON REDSKINS pick #21.  Lucky number. There are more than a few sites dedicated to projecting the ...

Opening Statement on the Raiders 2008 NFL draft
mvn.com 1/4/2008 — The Oakland Raiders will have either the third or fourth pick in the forthcoming NFL Draft in April pending the outcome of a coin flip between them and the Atlanta Falcons. I am not a draftnik, but special “Thoughts from the Dark Side” correspondent Raider X will be bringing many draft views into ...

fanblogs.com 12/27/2007 — With the season behind us, it's time to look back at the numbers and compare the 2007 final strength of schedule rankings. The NCAA final rankings put the Virginia Tech Hokies in first place, helped in large part by the LSU game and their two ...
Falcons Win Something for a Change, Earn the Third Pick
sports.aol.com 12/31/2007 — Maybe this is a sign that 2008 will be better.than 2007. After losing in every kind of way during the 2007 (including losing a coach and losing out on a GM), the Falcons actually won the tiebreaker for the third pick in the draft . The Falcons were part of a four-way tie for the third pick, sharing their 4-12 record with the Raiders, Chiefs and Jets
2007 Oakland Raiders Post-Season AwardsOakland Raiders
With the talk of the Raider Nation, turning away from the 2007 season to look towards free agency and the draft its time to take one more look back and see which Raiders made an impact on the season. There will be plenty of time to debate the merrits of picking Darren McFadden, Glen Dorsey, DeSean Jackson, or whomever. This space is dedicated to those who put their bodies on the line in ...
Looking at the Silver and Black year that was 2007Oakland Raiders
2007 was not an uneventful year for the Oakland Raiders by any stretch of the imagination. It was a year that started off with yet another coaching change, saw the Raiders grab JaMarcus Russell with the number one pick in the NFL draft. Russell held out of training camp and into the regular season keeping him on the bench while neither Daunte Culpepper or Josh McCown could grab the reigns. ...
2008 NFL Draft Order: How Does the Falcons- Chiefs-Raiders Three-Way Coin Flip Work?FanHouse
We've got the 2008 NFL draft order mostly figured out, but there's a whole lot of confusion going on about the third, fourth and fifth choices, where there's a three-way tie among the Atlanta Falcons, Kansas City Chiefs and Oakland Raiders. Those three teams are tied and the tiebreakers don't work the ties out, so that leaves us with a coin flip. And that left FanHouse commenter Trogdor ...

Lane Kiffin is NOT leaving; Rob Ryan is most likely leaving.Oakland Raiders
Peter King made an offhand comment at the end of the Pittsburgh Steeler Jacksonville Jaguar tilt that Lane Kiffin is not a lock to return to the Oakland Raiders next season. This flippant remark has sent shockwaves of panic though the Nation, over nothing more than speculation. It seems that every Raider fan is on edge right now. It seems that the speculation comes from the memo yesterday ...
Blueprint for Oakland Raiders Offensive Offeseason MovesOakland Raiders
By Raider X Special to Thoughts from the Dark Side Well, well, well. It’s finally the offseason and for most of Raider Nation, it was a disappointing year. I can agree, I am sick of 4-12 records, stupid mistakes and penalties, as well as close game losses. It’s become the norm, outside of the Art Shell disaster, since 2003. I for one predicted 5-11 with a 2-4 record versus the AFC West ...
2008 NFL Draft Order: Three-Way Coin Flip for Falcons, Raiders, ChiefsFanHouse
With the 2007 NFL season over, it's time for fans of 20 teams to start thinking about the 2008 NFL draft. But while the Cincinnati Bengals are the big winners in the tiebreaker derby, it appears to be too early to say who wins the other tiebreakers. Of the four 4-12 teams, the only thing that's clear is that the Jets will pick last, giving New York the sixth overall pick. The Atlanta Journal ...
