After three long days and 1,521 selections, the 2009 MLB Draft finally came to an end ten days ago. Unlike previous years when the Yankees shot for the moon and took a player who fell because of exorbitant bonus demands with their first pick, this year they zeroed in on a target and took him ...

RAB Draft Recap
Pending Pinstripes —
Mike Axisa over at River Avenue Blues posted a nice 2009 Draft Recap.
I definitely recommend checking it out. I agree with his conclusion
that the Yankees added some good depth along with some high upside
players. I disagree with him on one player who he may be cutting a
little bit short, draft eligible Sophomore Caleb Cotham, the 6'3" RHP
out of Vanderbilt. If the Yankees can get him signed, this is a guy who
has the potential to break out quickly and become a top ten Yankees
prospect.

Is it Too Soon for the Yankees to Panic?
nyyankeesrumors.com 6/24/2009 — The Yankees have been playing sub-par baseball lately, and while they have plenty of time to bounce back, there are three other teams in the AL East posing some serious threats. 2009 Draft: Thoughts from Day Two
riveraveblues.com 6/11/2009 — From the looks of it, the Yankees went into Day Two of the 2009 Draft with the very clear intention of adding power to the system. Power, regardless if it was at the plate or on the mound, it didn’t matter. Sixth rounder Rob Lyerly’s ...
