The rumour was tantalising but no less than Billy Beane himself has quashed it, according to the New York Post: If Johan Santana’s going to go to the New York Mets, he won’t be going on a three-way plan that would send Oakland pitcher Dan Haren to the Twins, Mets shortstop Jose Reyes (whom Omar Minaya has called untouchable thus far, anyway) to the A's.
