McCloughan named 49ers’ GM; new offensive coordinator possibilities in the air On Wednesday, vice president of player personnel Scot McCloughan was promoted to general manager. In his first point of action, McCloughan ensured that Mike Nolan would maintain his coaching job, as well as have control over the coaching staff and the hiring a new offensive coordinator.
