Donald Strickland , a reserve defensive back for the San Francisco 49ers , was arrested earlier this month in downtown San Jose after allegedly running away from police who were trying to arrest him for being drunk in public, officers said Thursday. Strickland, 27, was booked April 13 on suspicion of public intoxication and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors, according to police spokesman ...

... Strickland had been arrested earlier this month for running from the police. I don’t even want to analyze this, but what kind of timing was this? The 49ers don’t need any distractions, especially with Mike Nolan’s tolerance of bad behavior. Don’t know what kind of punishment Strickland would get, if any, but this just wasn’t good timing. A day before the draft the team cannot afford to have distractions like this. ...
