According to numerous sources, the New York Yankees have acquired outfielder Xavier Nady and relief-pitcher Damaso Marte from the Pittsburgh Pirates. In return, Pittsburgh will receive hard-throwing pitcher Ross Ohlendorf as well as Double-A prospects Jose Tabata, Phil Coke and George Kontos. New York finally has a right-handed bat to water down a left-handed dominant lineup. Nady is having a career year, hitting .330 with 13 HR and 57 RBI. Two players have apparently changed in the Xavier Nady/Damaso Marte trade. It seems that the Pirates will receive Daniel McCutchen and Jeff Karstens instead of Phil Coke and George Kontos. UPDATE (7/26/2008 - 1:05 PM): Dejan reports that the deal is done. Nady and Marte for Tabata, Ohlendorf, McCutchen and Karstens.
