Yanks may be interested in Harden
Published 3/19/2008 by Greg Cohen at Sliding Into Home: A Yankees Blog
The San Francisco Chronicle(hat tip to WasWatching.com) is reporting that "according to one source" the Yankees have interest in Oakland A's right-hander Rich Harden. They go on to say that even though Harden has been injured in each of the last three seasons there will be no discount. Apparently the asking price is "Ian Kennedy, for starters, and perhaps pitchers Alan Horne and Jeff Marquez as well." If that's the case then Billy Beane is out of his mind. I wouldn't ...
Yanks Interested In Rich Harden?
Published 3/19/2008 by Steve Lombardi at WasWatching.com
Via the San-Fran Chronicle:
Rich Harden will start at Phoenix today, and Joe Blanton at Mesa, splitting the scouting hordes that have been watching the two all spring. Both are potential candidates to be traded, and the Yankees apparently have expressed interest in Harden, according to one source.
The A's, however, won't provide any real discount for Harden, even though he has been hurt much of the past three years. They probably would ask for right-hander Ian Kennedy, for starters, and perhaps pitchers Alan Horne and Jeff Marquez as well. ...

Yanks looking at Rich Harden?
Published 3/19/2008 by Joseph P. at River Avenue Blues
I gotta say, I was a bit surprised to see this one pop up on MLB Trade Rumors. But apparently, at least according to one source, the Yanks have some interest in Oakland righty Rich Harden.
On the surface, it’s hard not to salivate at this one. Harden is a nasty, nasty pitcher when healthy. Unfortunately, health has not been his forte. His career high in innings pitched came during his second major league season, at age 22 in 2004. He tossed 189.7 innings that year, to a 3.99 ERA. He was good, but not great that year, striking out 167 and walking 81. ...

Yankees Like Harden
Published 3/19/2008 by Eli at MLB Rumors
... The Yankees are reportedly looking for a starting pitcher, and have been scouting Joe Blanton and Rich Harden all spring. Harden isn't having the best spring, but is healthy, and is very good pitcher. He went 1-2 with a 2.45 ERA in seven games last season, but is 31-18 with a 3.60 ERA in his career. He would be very good for the Yankees considering they have a lot more offensive run support, but I am not sure the Yankees would give up what the Athletics will ask for. I assume the A's would ask for Alan Horne, Jeff Marquez, and maybe Jose Tabata. I think that would do it, but its ...
