Miller Signing Put Sabres Back In The Game

... offers, no botching of tentative agreements, no animosity, no jerking around a star player, no distractions.
It was a grand departure from business practices that led to Chris Drury and Daniel Briere bolting, Brian Campbell getting traded and the franchise landing on its ear. By golly, maybe they’ve finally learned their lesson.
Miller wanted to remain here. The Sabres showed they were committed to keeping him. Everybody’s satisfied.

Bucky Gleason says the lock-ups are good news if for no other reason than it lets the Sabres concentrate on hockey, not who they're not signing. ...

... The criticism of management continues in Buffalo despite the team making some signings in the recent days, including the signing of goalie Ryan Miller. Our favorite writer at the Buffalo news actually found it in his heart to praise management, although he never mentioned Larry Quinn. In the same piece however he still found it necessary to mention how the team failed with Drury, Briere and Campbell.
