I have four requests: 1. Please don’t fret over this game alone. The Heels are going to gets a Super Regional, and at this point that’s all that matters. Watching the pitching staff struggle like that can be a bit unnerving, but this team finished the regular season #1 for a reason. 2. No more games that end at 1:30 in the morning. Please. 3. Can’t our pitching ...UNC to take on UVa in first game of the ACC Tourney

Tonight the Diamond Heels will begin their quest to win the ACC post season tournament and they will do it facing a Cavaliers team that has some unfinished business with UNC. Or should I say they left a couple of innings behind due to bad weather and won a shortened game against the Heels. Yes, just a few weeks ago North Carolina and Virginia met in their three game series in ...ACC Tourney Recap for May 21

State opens the ACC tournament at 10am (hope the boys had their coffee) against Georgia Tech. This will be the one and only meeting of the season against GT, so this is a critical game for both teams as they aspire to host an NCAA regional. I would say State is in a [...]2008 ACC Tournament Notes

I know my baseball coverage has been spotty (at best) but with the ACC Tournament now upon us, and Wake having manged to make it in, we'd better start talking about it a little bit more. The tournament starts tomorrow, with Wake's first game against Florida State. Wake is in a pool of 4 teams which will play a round robin followed by a small tournament. Despite a difficult and trying season, ...2008 ACC Tournament Schedule Released

In it's ACC tournament opener Wake fell to Florida State 8-3. An early Wake lead provided by a Dykstra homer was not enough. Apparently this Buster Posey guy for FSU is pretty dang good. I didn't catch any of the game (no TV options that I could find) so the best thing I can do is provide links to any news reports I can find. If you haven’t been watching already, it’s time to start paying attention to the UNC baseball team. Carolina is heading into the ACC Tournament tonight as the #1 team in the nation after winning a 3-games series against Miami, the previous #1. The last series of the season did not start the way the Tar Heels would have liked. The second ranked North Carolina (43-10, 20-7 in the ACC) team traveled to Coral Gables, Florida to meet top ranked Miami (43-6, 23-3 in the ACC) and lost the first of three games by the score of 12 to 2. A three game set at Florida State is all that remains in the regular season for the Wolfpack Nine (36-16 Overall, 17-9 ACC). This should be an interesting measurement of where the squad currently stands. After this season the ACC will longer be involved with the Humanitarian Bowl in Boise. Wanna take bets on which ACC team will get stuck there in the final year of the deal? The Red Sox unveiled the logo for next season's ACC baseball championship at Fenway. ESPN produced their ACC Atlantic outlook. Nothing earth shattering inside, however, I did enjoy this quote from Tommy Bowden: "I don't ...
