As expected, the Toronto Maple Leafs hired Tim Hunter and Rob Zettler Tuesday to serve as new bench boss Ron Wilson s assistant coaches. ... the team is going. By building mainly through the draft, GM Dean Lombardi has ensured that when the Kings get good, they’ll be good for a long time. I have no doubt there are Kings fans upset about the slow pace in which the team is rebuilding and wish Lombardi would sign a couple of veterans to get his club into the playoff hunt. Toronto Adds Hunter, Zettler as Assistant Coaches

No, not Dale Hunter . . . Tim Hunter and Rob Zettler have been sucked into The Great Toronto Void, a.k.a. Leafs Nation, as assistant coaches. Zettler patrolled the Washington blue line from 1999-2002 (with a couple stints in Portland). Hunter was the Capitals’ assistant coach for 5 years, including the team’s run to the Stanley Cup in 1998.
