Ok so in case you didn’t know before last night Fedor Emelianenko is the best heavyweight MMA fighter in the world, period. He proved it (yet again) by defeating the former two time UFC champion Tim Sylvia very easily. It only took him a few punches, a quick rear chokehold and 36 seconds to beat Tim Sylvia. Leave it to UFC though to tease us though. Fedor Emelianenko took out Tim Sylvia at Affliction: Banned in 36 seconds to win the WAMMA Heavyweight Championship last night. I call it the WHAM-O championship because the production of the show looked like it was done with toys. EliteXC's Saturday Night Fights looked (slightly) better than this show, WEC shows look 10 times better, and UFC shows 15 times better. There were two MMA main events last night. Each one featuring the two best “pound for pound” fighter in the game today, Fedor Emelianenko and Anderson Silva. Both secured first round victories, but which one was more impressive? Emelianenko knocked Tim Sylvia down with a flurry of punches and made him submit in 36 seconds, while Anderson Silva caught James Irvin’s leg and punched him repeatedly splitting him open to the point that Joe Rogan said Irvin’s eye was “leaking like a faucet.” ...
