Pirates, Tigers still talking about Wilson

The Pirates continued to have talks this morning with Detroit about a trade that would send shortstop Jack Wilson to the Tigers. Neither side was divulging anything other than that the discussions remained open. Detroit also is seeking bullpen help, so it is possible that one of the Pirates' three relievers on the block -- Shawn Chacon, Salomon Torres and Damaso Marte -- could be included.

Pirates acquire Morris from Giants

The Pirates today acquired starting pitcher Matt Morris from the San Francisco Giants for outfielder Rajai Davis and a player to be named later. Despite day-long discussions with the Detroit Tigers, no deal was reached to send shortstop Jack Wilson to Detroit by the 4 p.m. non-waiver trade deadline.
