The Pro-Football-Reference Blog  has a short post on Al Davis and his infatuation with 1st round picks.  My favorite part of the article shows that of the two teams on which he had 22 former 1st-rounders, both were 4-12.  It's amazing to see how a team can stockpile so many 'talented' players, yet be so poor.  We can only hope the Darren McFadden pick continues the trend.
