David Eckstein rejected a trade to a contender because he wishes to stay in San Diego and mentor the young players in the organization. I do not much like Eckstein as a player, but that is an undeniably classy thing for a player to do. After something like that, it is obvious that Eckstein will eventually find a job in coaching.
