Sean Leahy's Going Five Hole — With the NHL announcing last week that it will introduce an NBA-style shootout to this year's Skill Competition with a panel of celebrity judges, I was thinking of who the league might want to consider using as judges for their first foray into this type of thing. I hope, whomever they do choose, takes the thing seriously and won't throw aorund 10's for the crappiest of moves, much like what we see in the NBA Slam Dunk competition. ...

No NFL? Watch the NHL All-Star Game!
SportsHubLA — ...   While a number of events are scheduled during the All-Star Game weekend, in my opinion, there are only three noteworthy events: the NHL SuperSkills, the YoungStars Game, and the NHL All-Star Game itself.  The first two events will be held on the preceding Saturday at 4 p.m. PT and the final event will be held on the following day at 3 p.m. PT on Versus (VS).  And for those lucky Americans, CBC Sports. The SuperSkills competition is probably the most fun part of the weekend, but also slowly turning into a circus .  Do we really need to see the most outlandish shootout attempt? ...
