RedBaron 12 points and 8 boards a game will make him an all star?
Well, he is an Eastern Conference center.
Then again, his 'American bling bling' teammates might not be as eager to get him the ball next year.

mookie "Future All Star" : Everyone knows by now that the mainstream media has no idea how to report on a sport such as basketball which isn't widely publicized enough in Australia to rival the top sports (Rugby/League/Cricket etc) -- so I wouldn't read too much into that. It's not a totally outlandish statement anyway.
Bogut: He has made plenty of arrogant comments in the past, particularly regarding established Australian players and legends. However, there is an element of truth in what he is saying - he just hasn't phrased it very well.
I don't think people in the United States really know how they are viewed around the world. I'm not trying to stir anyone's emotions too much, but Bogut's opinions are not too different from those of many in other countries.
Don't close your eyes to objectivity.
Side Note: As always, Etan's writing is very measured and well written.

Etan Thomas Calls Out Andrew Bogut
Published 7/16/2007 by Brett Edwards at FanHouse
... One person that did notice Bogut's comments, however, was SLAM columnist (and occasionally effective NBA player) Etan Thomas. Etan had several issues with Bogut's remarks, including the fact that Bogut came across as an elitist and a hypocrite in some of his criticisms: ...

... Well, lucky for us, Etan Thomas is willing to voice his opinion too. In his open letter to Andrew Bogut, Etan holds Bogut's comments up to reason, where they disintegrate. When it comes to making cogent arguments, its clear who has the bigger knife. Read Etan's blog here. ...

Etan posterizes Andrew Bogut
Published 7/17/2007 by JakeTheSnake <info@bulletsforever.com> at Bullets Forever
... In his column, Etan takes Bogut to task over his broad, sweeping generalizations of basketball players and America in general and he does it in a classy way. Now, I'd rather not have this turn into a discussion about the issue because there's enough places to do that as it is but I highly recommend taking a look at it, it's a great read so please check it out. ...

... . 7) Etan Thomas just hammers Andrew Bogut in his latest SLAM!!!!!! column . Because I link to all Etan's columns, I'll link to this one, too. Bogut's comments don't seem particularly incendiary to me, but I'm not highly flammable, excepting for the use of Gandhi to describe free agency struggles. 8) Reader Paul long ago pointed out that my item on ...
Andrew Bogut has the NBA's new worst haircut
Published 7/20/2007 by Justin Rogers at Detroit Pistons Full-Court Press - MLive.com
With Pistons news in its annual summer-time lull, I thought I'd bring you one of the more amusing pieces of news from around the NBA. Drew Gooden, step aside, Andrew Bogut is making his claim for the worst haircut in the league. I wonder if Etan Thomas will have anything to say about this?

... Oh my. Is it possible this is a reaction to getting bashed by Etan Thomas in Slam! or just the loss of an unfortunate bet? Let me just add this, I saw Drew Gooden at summer league last week and to my disappointment he is still sporting the "duck tail" patch on the back of his head. Oh, and Robert Swift of the Sonics not only has a bunch of new tats on his arms, a ponytail, but I believe he is the first NBA player I've ever seen who is sporting a lip ring. ...

... That said, the Bucks hook me because of one guy: Andrew Bogut. He's a more athletic, less dominant Yao Ming. What can I say--ever since Hakeem, I've loved the good-passing big man...and Bogut is downright Walton-esque at times. He's still young enough to build around and is clearly an inspirational figure--you don't see Etan Thomas penning a letter to Dwyane Wade or LeBron James, do you? Guys flock to Phoenix to play with Steve Nash. The Euros will courra to 'Kee to commiserate with their truth-talker. ...
Game 63 Blog: Washington Wizards vs. Milwaukee Bucks
Published 3/12/2008 by Truth About It at truthaboutit.net
Big News of the Night Mo 'The Wizard Killer' Williams will not be seeing action. Mo from Mississippi dropped 13 points, 3 assists in a January 4th Washington rout and 25 and 5 (along with 6 turnovers) in a January 27th Milwaukee Bucks overtime victory. Mo Williams had 8 of his 25 and 1 assist in the final 1:19 to lead his team to victory. So, as goes Mo, so go the Bucks. I shouldn't even have to mention the history. But why is Williams out? The reports on ESPN say pubic symphysitis.....yikes, that doesn't sound fun at all; the life of an NBA player takes a toll on the crotch region I suppose. Eddie ...

Nice headline in that Sydney Morning Herald article:
Although he is surrounded by the trappings of fame, future NBA All-Star Andrew Bogut remains a modest all-Australian boy
Umm.....future NBA All-Star??? Really? 12 points and 8 boards a game will make him an all star?
By the way, anyone wonder how Bogut's comments are gonna go over in the locker room? I'm guessing Redd, Bobby Simmons, and Villanueva re going to think he's an even bigger douchebag than he already was....
