As many of you know, Friday night's Honduras-Panama match was Amado Guevara's first match back at Giants Stadium. ... Ives writes about it in an aptly titled blog entry "An Unhappy Reunion". If you had any questions over why Guevara just up and left Chivas USA. If you thought that maybe there was something going on between Preki and Guevara or Guevara and others in Chivas USA's front office. Here was Guevara's chance to try to set things straight. But he hasn't said anything of the sort. And more so if he was going to, being petulant over a writer who was truthful in the past about your performances isn't the way to go around making your case.

... What is clear, however, is that Amado Guevara is no fan of Ives. Just one day after our meeting, in which one of the topics we addressed was the unique relationship between beat reporters and the players they cover, Guevara banned Ives from his media circle for some critical columns he wrote about the Honduran striker. Just another day on the beat. At least Clint Mathis and him are friends again (keep reading).
