 Angels Discussing Konerko? Links5
Just got a solid tip that the Angels and White Sox are discussing a possible Paul Konerko deal.  That's all I've got for the moment; no idea how serious these talks may be. I do recall the Angels' making an offer to Konerko in the winter of 2005-06.  Konerko does have a limited no-trade clause to consider. [link]

... The rumor on the streets, according to the only place to go for MLB Trade Rumors, is that the Angels are looking hard at Paul Konerko. And in a way, it does make sense. The Angels do have several tradable assets, and Casey Kotchman hits like a rich mans Sean Burroughs. ...

If you can hear it coming, it's already too late
Published 1/6/2008 by Jim at Sox Machine: Chicago White Sox blog
If you can hear it coming, it's already too late If Kenny Williams opened up a pizzeria, I'd have a great slogan for him -- "Pizzas in 30 minutes or less ... or you're staying hungry." Rumors of Paul Konerko heading to Anaheim appeared in a couple different places, including a report from the (L.A.) ...

Konerko to Stay With White Sox; What to Expect in 2008
Published 1/27/2008 by Mike Pindelski at The Bard's Room
... Initially I though the Konerko-to-Angels rumors were pretty believable, especially when names like Howie Kendrick, Ervin Santana and Chone Figgins started to surface.  However, we haven’t heard much lately regarding the two teams talking and Williams has pretty much squashed every rumor, so I have little to no doubt Konerko’s going to be the everyday man at first base next season. ...

According to Dave van Dyck of the Chicago Tribune, White Sox general manager Kenny Williams flatly denied rumors that his team was trading 1B Paul Konerko to the Los Angeles Angels for 2B Howie Kendrick and SP Ervin Santana. FanHouse: Hate To Say I Told You So
Remember in my article about the Nick Swisher trade at FanHouse the other day, I mentioned that this move was probably a precursor to a bigger move Kenny Williams was going to try to make? New Trade Target: Paul Konerko
The Angels are reportedly interested in acquiring 32-year-old White Sox first baseman Paul Konerko . The Angels pursued Konerko as a free agent in the winter of 2005, only to see him re-sign for the White Sox in November of that year. It's no secret that the Angels have been trying to upgrade their offense this off-season, failing in an attempt to acquire a young impact bat in Miguel ...

More on the Konerko talk
The L.A. Daily News has an item up saying that the Angels are apparently pursuing Paul Konerko. I had dismissed this as unlikely, when it was first broached, but it appears there may be something to it. And for the life of me, I can't figure out why Anaheim would be doing this. From the article: A source has indicated the Angels and Chicago White Sox are discussing a second trade of the ...

Angels Discussing Konerko
MLBTradeRumors.com is reporting that the Los Angeles Angels and Chicago White-Sox are discussing a possible Paul Konerko deal. Konerko hit 31 home-runs and drove in 90 for the White Sox last season.
