The Memphis Grizzlies granted Allen Iverson permission to leave the team indefinitely to deal with a personal matter. Something urgent enough that Grizzlies owner Michael Eisley feels it shouldn’t be reported. Barbershop talk says A.I. wore out his welcome in Memphis. Eisley says he’ll be back but they need to work on his role.
Iverson doesn’t want to come off the bench and the Grizzlies don’t want him to start. The team wins that battle but the two sides have to figure out a way to play nice until Dec. 15 when A.I.’s eligible to be traded.
